Chapter 11 Mr. Kaplin had to reschedule Jordan’s interview once, so even though he should have started work on the farm today, he begged off so he could drive downstate to Medford. Beckett didn’t ask questions, and Jordan was grateful. Even though he’d made it clear working on the farm would be a temporary situation, he didn’t relish the thought of having to explain to his current boss—and lover—he was going on a job interview. Jordan told himself it didn’t matter, that both situations with Beckett were only for the short term, but he still felt weird about it. He left before four thirty in the morning so he could make the nearly five-hour drive in order to be on time for his appointment at ten.
