His words pulled me from my thoughts, I was only a little interested. I don't exactly have the best experience with engagement parties.
"We are only contracted to marry. We don't need a ceremony." I shrugged. "After all, this isn't my first engagement. Maybe I'll have another in the future."
Since I discovered who Henry truly was, I found that for people like him, no morals or values mattered.
Edward and I are only a fake marriage, and our cooperation will end once the contract expires. I could choose to marry someone else after. Maybe even find someone who truly loves me. My expectations aren't that high.
Edward barked a laugh, "You're bold. An Alpha's daughter who was engaged to many men, doesn't look too good if it spreads.
