Aroura's POV
The Timberwolf Pack?
I was stunned to hear that name. My parents often mentioned that pack. Very powerful after developing from a small pack. They had been hostile with the Nightfall pack for decades, especially after the brutal Dark Dawn years ago. The struggle between the packs had slowed for a while, but the friction flared again when the Timberwolf Pack welcomed a new alpha. Edward Anderson.
"Boom!"
A loud noise echoed from the door to the hall as a group of people stormed in.
"Edward Anderson!" Henry gritted his teeth beside me. I followed his gaze, my heart began to beat faster.
The man at the front of the group seemed to emit an aura of power. His face was so attractive that I couldn't help but be drawn to it. He had deep captivating brown eyes that trapped anyone who looked into them. Below his straight nose were thin lips that curved slightly upwards, as if he was always smiling naturally.
His messy dark brown hair fell over his forehead, highlighting the contours of his sharp, defined jawline. He wore a grey suit that must have been expensive. His collar was open revealing his sexy Adam's apple and just a hint of his collarbones.
Everyone knew about Edward's Playboy attitude. Due to how vast and powerful his pack was many women wanted a relationship with him. He was known to be both a lover of pleasure and an incredibly hard worker. He split his time between entertaining women and growing the power of his pack.
Now I understood why so many women were attracted to him just from catching a glance at his face.
"Release them!" Henry's angered bark brought me back to reality. I understood why he was furious but it felt deserved. He ruined what was supposed to be the best day of my life, and now his greatest enemy comes to knock on the door.
I cleared my mind and realised I had done all I could. If these two packs decided to fight, it wouldn't benefit me or my pack members in any way. I had to regroup with all my pack members in attendance and discus any counter measures.
Thinking about this, I didn't pay any attention to the scene and lifted my skirt to walk away and find my pack members.
Suddenly I could feel someone's gaze directly on my face. I looked up instinctively and was met with those deep brown eyes.
I shook my head to break the stare and began to walk away. Until my wrist was grabbed by Henry. "Aurora, don't leave! Wait until I've handled this and let me explain everything to you.
"What do you need to explain? This is none of my business anymore. We have settled everything between us." I said coldly, trying to move forward. However, he held my wrist with his wolves strength and shifted his tone dangerously. "If you leave your pack members will be finished."
I frowned and was about to cut in when Edward, obviously dissatisfied with being ignored, kicked one of the guards in the leg making him release a terrible scream that echoed through the hall. Henry's face shifted into an even more angry expression.
I had never heard of Edward causing this much trouble before. Usually, he would tease Henry by taking resources and men while knowing Henry wasn't powerful enough to stop it.
Especially this time, when Henry was so caught off guard. His chances of winning were slim to none. Finally, it appeared that logic won in Henry's mind. His demeanour became more respectful, though it was obvious that it was forced. "Alpha Edward, please release my members. In exchange we offer you supplies."
"But I don't want supplies today." Edward raised an eyebrow and flashed a seemingly friendly smile. However, the friendly effect was greatly diminished by his foot still being pressed against the guard's leg.
Henry near choked on his shock and looked around the room at the guests. He was so afraid of losing even more face that he remained silent for a short while before speaking again. "Then please tell me what you want, I'll do my best to provide it, but I hope you won't cause trouble at my engagement party."
When the words "engagement party" came from his mouth, I couldn't resist rolling my eyes. Edward seemed to notice as he dropped into a low sexy laugh.
"Then I want your engagement party," he said.
"You!" Henry said in shock. Frankly, I didn't care, after what he put me through I wanted him to have a hard time.
I wrapped my arms around myself and took two steps forward fearlessly, meeting Edward's gaze.
"Unfortunately, his engagement has already been ruined by me." I stated
Edward's face was stunned for just a moment before he burst out laughing. "That is unfortunate indeed. Then I will let this beautiful lady tell me what I should take instead."
His eyes were roaming all over my body as he looked at me. He wore just a hint of a smile. It made me slightly uncomfortable but, I didn't let it affect my strength.
This man was exactly like the rumours. A true playboy who flirted constantly. However...
I looked to where Edward was standing, tightly blocking the entrance. Behind me were Henry and his mother, who was still pestering the two of us. I was nervous about getting my pack members out of this situation. We are much weaker than these two forces, especially if they both turned against us.
"I'm not from this pack as far as I'm concerned take whatever you want. My only request is that you let me and my pack members go." I stated firmly.
"Oh?" He raised his charming eyes and looked towards me. "That must mean Henry's fiancee must be a member of your pack."
I furrowed my brow, surprised that he had no intention of letting my members go. After cursing under my breath, I began to let my mind circulate.
I had nothing to rely on Harry for anymore, and Edward was shooting me such a sly look as if he wanted to play me too. Why not feed this chaos?
"Fiancee? No, I'm not his fiancee anymore. Not now, not ever."
I saw him raise an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing at his lips as if he wanted to cut in with a jab. Quickly, I laughed and cut in, "If you want, I could even be your fiancee. "
