Adam
I dropped her home but this uneasiness inside of me being away from Bella is eating me from the inside.
I went straight home to meet that woman. I know my duties and I can perform them without anyone interfering.
" Hello, dear," as soon as I stepped into our house she said.
" Why are you doing this? You know how dangerous it is for us to show up, "I asked her, as anger started to build in me.
" Don't forget where we are coming from. How hard it is all these years," she reminded me. Of course, I knew every fucki*g thing.
" By the way, how is that man doing in the ICU?" She asked, smirking at me.
" Oh you know better than me how he was doing there," I snapped at her.
" Don't!" She said, rising to her feet, with a glass of red wine in her hand.
" Don't fall in love with anyone," she said, making me clench my fists.
" She will come to you, have patience," she said. Her eyes softened.
" Where is everyone?" I asked, changing the topic or else it would remind me of her absence.
" They will arrive after your wedding," she said, turning around, walking away from me.
" Give lots of love to your bride, dear groom," she said and started to laugh.
I sighed, nothing had been hidden from her.
Before going to my studies, I called our maids and caretakers to clean the villa spotless and to decorate the whole villa with white liiles.
When I was done with them, I walked to my study and locked myself in.
I walked around the table and sat down. I felt helpless. I don't know where all of my confidence has gone. It is harder than thinking back to when I was keeping an eye on Bella. I thought I could do this, but oh, I was so wrong.
Then my gaze fell on the picture of my little brother. He was smiling so happily, and he looked happy in that picture.
My eyebrows knitted together as rage was running through my blood. I remember each and one day we had to suffer.
Then I made up my mind. I am doing this without any regret or guilt. I took a sharp intake of breath before fetching my phone from my pocket. I dialled my men and told them to prepare for a wedding.
I wanted to make things perfect for her one last time as she is innocent in all of this mess. I sighed and walked out of my study. I took a last glance around the deserted villa which was once full of joy, happiness and laughter.
I turned around and walked out of the villa and got into my car. I drove back to my apartment to get some rest as I will have a long weekend ahead.
I only have 15 days to marry Bella and to finish my business before we all move back to the villa for once and for all.
The mere thought of marrying her made me happy. To think that she will be mine and will love me makes me feel like a teenager.
My heart was suddenly beating fast and there was a slight pain in my heart as well. Whenever I think of Bella, I always feel like this. Maybe I am falling for her too.
Bella
I stood in front of my long mirror in a beautiful white dress which Adam had sent early this morning. Looking at the reflection in awe, as tears of sadness rolled down from my eyes. I never imagined that this day would come into my life like this.
" You will ruin your makeup," Marthe said, coming to me.
I turned around and hugged her like a lost child. Ever since my mother died I have always searched for my mother's love until I met Martha.
" I am scared, Martha," I told her honestly.
" Everything will be just fine. I will look after your father," she said, pulling away from the embrace.
" Thank you," I thanked her. She has been so supportive since the day I told her about my father.
" Now let's fix your makeup and we will go out," she said, and started to fix my make-up once again.
Once she was done, she looked at me with a warm smile before leading me to my dad who was waiting for me near the closed door that leads to the garden where our marriage ceremony would be held.
Adam really cared for my feelings and did everything he could do in search of a short time. Despite having met him yesterday, I felt like I had known him for decades.
He was right, if I looked for a guy to marry me in this situation, I may have ended up in someone's hands that i didn't like or he would probably come out as a different person. I am glad that he is willing to help me in this whole situation. He even told me that he would take care of my father like his own and send him abroad for treatment. Thinking of Adam made my eyes well up.
" You look breathtaking, doll," my father commented as I approached his wheelchair. The doctors said he can't move around freely anymore or else it will worsen his health than it is now.
" Thanks dad," I said, smiling happily at him. I don't want him to know what is going on inside of me. I don't know how many days I have with him, but we will make memories of happiness not of sadness.
" Come on, your groom is waiting out there," a voice said from outside of the door.
My father held my hand firmly and I took a shaky breath. Martha knocked on the door twice and the door swung open, leading us to a beautiful garden.
My eyes scanned the whole area as I started to walk down the aisle and l. Everything was done really nicely. White and baby pink roses were everywhere, making the whole area majestic and fragrant. Adam arranged everything and he did a great job.
When my eyes finally fell on my groom, my breath hitched. He was looking absolutely gorgeous in that white suit and there was a red rose tucked in the chest pocket of his blazer. He was looking at me while a warm smile plastered on his lips.
When our eyes met, I forgot everything behind and I felt like it was only me and him and that matters. It felt like we were in a different parallel world of our own.
As I reached him, he offered me his hand and I gladly placed my hand in his.
I heard the priest saying something and he asked us to say our vows and we did. Never once leaving each other's gaze. We stood there hand in hand looking into each other's eyes like we had finally found our souls after decades.
" Now you may kiss the bride," the priest said. He smiled brightly at me like he was waiting for his moment for a very long time, making me blush.
Then he came closer and held me by my waist before kissing me on my lips gently. The kiss was tender and so gentle that I almost forgot about the problem.
When I pulled away, I looked at my father who was wiping his happy tears away. Seeing the only person in my life crying makes my heart clench, whether it is happy tears or sad, I can't look at him crying. Feeling my thoughts, Adam pulled me to him.
" He is happy, love. Don't worry," he said, kissing the side of my temple. My heart skipped a beat hearing him calling me love. Never in my life has someone called me love so tenderly.
" Tonight he will leave for his treatment, and I promise I will solve every problem in your life," he said, looking at me lovingly. I have never been in love and I don't know what love is like, but if the feelings that I get every time he calls me by a name is love, then I think I fall for him.
" Thank you Adam," I said sincerely.
" You know you don't have to thank me, it is the least I can do for my girl. But yes, if you are willing, then you can say it in another way," he said playfully.
" In what way?" I asked.
" Like kissing me back whenever I kiss you," he said. Then I realised that I hadn't kissed him back. I was so lost at that moment that I didn't know what to do next when he kissed me.
" I am sorry. That… that was my first kiss,"I said as my cheeks burned in embarrassment from saying that out loud. His eyes went wide for a second and I saw foreign emotions flash in his eyes.
He took my hand and led me to my dad before I could say anything to him. I wanted to ask him if he regrets kissing me.
I saw my dad was looking at us lovingly while smiling happily. He looked content.
" Now I can go for my treatment knowing that my only precious thing is safe and happy," he said as we stood in front of him. He still did not know that Adam had arranged his treatment and I didn't tell him. If he knew that Adam had done all this he wouldn't ever have agreed. After Adam convinced me, we told him that it was the hospital who arranged his treatment.
" Adam, I know you are a good boy and I know you are like my daughter. I am giving you the most precious thing in my life. Please take care of her. I will be at peace now knowing that there is someone who will take care of my baby girl even if I am not around," he said.
" Dad," I whispered, trying to hold onto my emotions. I didn't want to send him with tears in my eyes.
" Your ride has arrived, Mr. Smith," Adam said, looking at the chauffeur.
" Bye, doll. Take care of yourself for me," he said, and I bent down to give him a kiss on his forehead.
We stood there until his car hit the road. The tears I was holding back came freely. A lot of things were going on in my mind. I don't know if I was ever going to see him.
" Everything will be alright, I promise," Adam said as he leaned his forehead on mine..we stood there as he was comforting me.
" Bella?" He asked me to pull away.
"Hmm,"
" My family will arrive soon and I want you to meet them. We need to go back to my villa," he informed me, making me nervous. What if they don't like me knowing my background? I know the differences between Adam and me.
" They will love you and they can't wait to meet you," he said, as if he read my mind.
"OK," I said, giving him a small smile.
" We need to go back to my house. Is that okay with you?" He asked. I wonder how many people asked their other half this kind of question on their wedding day. His small gestures of making me comfortable, melting my heart.
" Don't worry about your things, I will arrange for someone to get them," he said. I nodded my head before going to his car hand in hand.
