Lilah POV

Opening my eyes I stretch happily. That was my best nights sleep in years I thought to myself. Looking around the room I sit up. Noticing Sky is still happily snoozing in my mind I stand up slowly and head to the shower, letting the warm water run down my body I quickly mindlink James to see about breakfast. "I will be down for breakfast in 15 mins Beta, let me know when you and your mate are ready"

"We are on our way down now Alpha, see you shortly" he responds immediately.

Wrapping a towel around me I quickly head to my closet and grab some training clothes. Looking at myself in the mirror I admire how toned my body looks, my leggings hugging my muscles and my cropped training top hinting at my abs. Secret training has done me wonders I laugh to myself. Throwing my hair into a high ponytail and after putting some trainers on I jog down the stairs.

Walking into the dining hall everyone suddenly quietens down. Seeing a group of Omegas sat with Mary I quickly put my hand on her shoulder and look at them all kindly, "it's about time you're sat down enjoying your breakfast. I hope you all got plenty of rest last night." With a nod I move towards the Alphas seat. Hearing a whiney voice scoff from behind me and not so quietly say "Omega trash, of course she wants her Omega friends to sit amongst us" I turn raising my eyebrows toward the voice. Seeing it was Johannah - one of Shannon's little minions I head towards her. "I'm sorry Johannah what was that you just said?" I ask quietly.

"Oh nothing...Alpha" she sneers at me.

"Okay well maybe I should remind you...Omega trash I believe is what you just referred to me as did you not?" I ask.

"What...no...how? I didn't say that out loud" she quickly defends herself, her friends begin shifting uncomfortably quickly catching on to me.

"Im well aware you didn't say it out loud Johannah. I forgot to mention one of my powers, I can hear all of your mind links. So I'd perhaps watch what you say from now on don't you think? Don't want to end up like your dear friend Shannon now do you." I laugh.

"But that's an invasion of privacy, how dare you!?" She snaps angrily.

"Ah ah, I'd watch your tone Johannah. I will not use my powers to invade on peoples privacy. However after what happened yesterday I was intrigued to hear what people had to say about me. I chose to only listen to those that was negative about myself, and guess what. I could only hear yours" I say smugly. "Now, if I hear one more word about me from your mouth you can expect to be cleaning toilets for the next month."

"But..that's an Omegas job." She shouted.

"Yes, it is part of their responsibilities. However without Omegas I believe this pack would struggle to run, who cooks, who cleans, who helps organise events...oh yes. That would be Omegas. Learn your place Johannah, you are no better than anyone else in this room. Don't think I've forgotten all you have said and done to me over the years. If you spent half the energy you put in belittling others into your studies maybe you wouldn't be trailing so far behind would you. But I know you...behind that mouth of yours there isn't much going. So shut up, eat and respect those that made breakfast for you." I snap at her whilst having a large grin on my face.

Hearing laughs spread across the dining room I look away and continue towards the buffet table. Grabbing a good selection of food I sit down and smile at Beta James across from me. "Good morning James, how was that for a little excitement this morning" I chuckle.

With a grin on his face he chortles to himself, "brilliant Alpha, your antics are certainly entertaining and informative. I'd like to introduce you to my mate...Millie" he says with fondness in his eyes. Looking to his right I see a petit lady with large brown eyes smiling warmly at me.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Alpha, thank you for letting me sit here today with you." She says softly.

"Millie, it's my pleasure. Honestly Johnson had some really weird views on what should and should not be allowed. That is your seat you may use it whenever, you're our Beta female after all." I say matter of factly. A tinkle of a giggle crossed her lips, "I would love that Alpha thank you, finally a woman with a backbone" she replies.

"Now I heard James here has been training you on the sly since meeting you, you have no idea how much I approve of that. I'd love to see your warrior skills this afternoon?"

"I would love to Alpha." She replies happily.

"Lilah is fine to you Millie, and you James. If we are in an official capacity we shall use our titles. Respect should be shown, title or not I believe."

"Of course...Lilah." James says with a smile.

"Brilliant, so after we've done some training Millie we can have a sit down and a coffee and go over what your responsibilities will be within the pack. I think it's best we get on with that as soon as possible don't you?" I said quickly.

"Definitely Lilah, I can't express how ready I am to show my capabilities." Millie exclaims happily.

The rest of breakfast went smoothly, I took the time to learn about James and Millie's upbringings, what they hoped to bring to the pack and heard any suggestions they had for improvements to be made. Excusing myself from the table I head towards the Alpha office. Opening the door I scoff to myself, yesterdays events crossing my mind. "James can you head to the Alpha office once done with breakfast. I think we need to discuss some things." I quickly mindlink him.

"On my way Lilah" he responds.

Sitting myself down I have a look at the papers on the desk. Sitting in front of me is an invite to the annual Alpha ball in 2 weeks time. "Now that will be fun" Sky remarks to me. Quickly filling out that our pack would be attending I set it to one side to post later on. Hearing a quick knock and the door opening I look up with a smile.

"Come in James"

"Sorry for being a few minutes Alpha, I just ran upstairs to grab the Omega rotas you requested i work on. I hope they're to your liking." He says quickly.

"Quick work James, I appreciate it" flicking through the pages a smile crossed my face. "This is just what we needed, thank you. Ensure these are passed to Mary and they can take effect from tomorrow. Now I'd like to discuss pack finances, did you have any involvement?"

A dark look crossed his face, "no Lilah, only Johnson and Maria had anything to do with the finances. I'm not sure even Lincoln had access just yet." He says with disapproval.

"Yes I had a feeling that may be the answer. For all the grandeur in the suites and flash cars our pack has, the finances are shockingly low. I think selling everything that is unnecessary will be a good start. I'd like you to look over our investments and see if we have any loans etc over the next couple days. We can discuss it again further once you've gathered all the relevant information." I say clearly. "Now as you're aware Warrior Liam will be arriving shortly. Once here we can finalise the training plans however I believe everyone should compulsory train on a week day. There will be different levels which we can accommodate for, warrior training will be longer and of a higher intensity. If there are young ones with aspirations to become warriors we can include a training plan for them to undertake. What do you think?"

"I like that Lilah. It will also be good for their well-being. Everyone should be able to defend themselves and those who wish to work towards a warrior position can do so"

"That is for females as well James I'll quickly mention" I added.

"Definitely Lilah. I'll have a look through the finances happily over the next couple of days and get back to you quickly as well" he replies.

Over the next couple of hours we chatted about what needs improving and what our next steps would be. By lunch time we were content in what we had planned and I dismissed him to spend some time with his mate. "I'll let you know when Liam has arrived James" I say as he leaves.

Leaning back in my chair I close my eyes briefly. "Sky how do you fancy a run? It's been a long time since we've been able to run freely" I suggest. Immediately her ears perked up and she was wagging her tail in excitement almost like that of a puppy. "Haha I'll take that as a yes shall I"

Walking towards the balcony, I quickly launch forwards over the railing and shift into Sky in midair, landing gracefully we ignore the shocked faces of everyone who was around as we quickly took off into the forest. Releasing a loud howl to show our happiness at being free we spent the next hour roaming the forest and exploring the pack territory.

"Alpha Lilah, Warrior Liam is here and is being shown to the packhouse" one of the guards stationed at the gate quickly links me.

"Thank you." I replied, "James could you please meet Liam at the front of the packhouse and escort him to my office. I'll be there in 10 mins. Please apologise I got carried away whilst running."

"Of course Lilah, I'm sure he will understand. I couldn't imagine having to hide my wolf for so long." He replies.

Turning round I start running to the pack house, trees zip past as I realise my speed has increased. "Just wait till our birthday" Sky chuckles.

As I arrive in front of the pack house I quickly shift back and walk gracefully towards the steps. Thank goodness I don't have to get dressed I thought to myself smugly. Smiling at those around me I continue walking. After a few steps I come across a group of she-wolfs gossiping infront of the doors.

"His eyes..."

"He's a Greek god, did you see his muscles..."

"What I would do to take those clothes off, I'll have to sign up for extra training if you know what I mean" comes Johannah nasily voice.

"Oh Johannah" I quickly call out, she spins around in shock taking a step back, "I'd suggest you wait for your mate if you want any luck of him accepting you. I think you've seen enough c***s already don't you" I smirk.

Striding past her I open the doors and am immediately hit with a familiar smell of citrus fruit, feeling Sky push forwards and her ears perk up I wonder if I'm to be so lucky. Cautiously walking up the stairs as the delicious fruity smell grows stronger I suddenly feel nervous. "Am I right in thinking this is our second - chance already Sky?" I whisper, "I think so Lilah, but the scent is so much stronger. Perhaps this could be our true-mate" she murmurs back. Taking a deep breath I push open the office door and step inside. Seeing a very muscular back in front of me with tattoos peeking out of his sleeves, I pause. Lifting his head I hear him take a deep breath, swinging his head round I'm met with the most gorgeous pair of golden eyes.

"Mate...." He whispers.
