Lilah POV
Lying down on my bed after seeing my father the King off, I chuckle to myself quietly. "What a day Sky, even better than we imagined. How are you holding up after the rejection?" I ask my wolf. "Ha rejection...I have no regret. That man does not deserve us, this pack does not deserve us. It was time they all were to know." Nodding my head in agreement a smile stretches across my face. Lifting my body off of the bed I walk towards the en-suite, seeing the grandness of the bathroom I once again find myself chuckling. "Well well well, whilst we have been living in a dorm the last few years and sharing communal showers it appears the higher ups have been living in grandeur Sky. I think it's time for another lesson don't you..."
"Beta James, can you come to my room immediately" I say via mindlink.
"Of course Princess" he quickly responds.
Turning around I pour myself a glass of wine from the small fridge and sit at the table in the corner of the bedroom, soon a clear knock is heard on my door. "Come in Beta" I say clearly.
He walks in slowly, shutting the door quietly behind him. With a bow of his head he waits to be spoken to. "I am aware of your hard work throughout the years Beta, you have no need to fear me" I say before continuing, "however for this one night I am going to be slightly petty. Lincoln...he does not yet deserve the title of Alpha, that is to be decided. Whilst I am acting Alpha of this pack he needs to be shown how others have been treated throughout the years. His suite...it's far too nice for a person such as himself I find. Tonight he will be living amongst the male omegas, he is to shower in the communal showers and to sleep on one of the lower bunk beds as I have had to. Once he has stayed there for tonight please find that he is provided a guest room stripped of its grandeur to remind him material matters do not equate to good leadership."
Looking at him I see a small smile start to appear on his face, "he approves" Sky whispers to me.
"Of course your Highness. I will ensure those requests are fulfilled immediately." He says with a light in his pale grey eyes.
"Beta, I need someone who knows how the pack is run to work alongside myself and Warrior Liam over the coming weeks. You yourself have never shown me any harm, have not once spoken to me out of term or looked down on me for being a 'female Omega' or for being supposedly wolfless for that matter. I would like you to continue acting Beta alongside me. Together we can work on improving this pack. You will work alongside Warrior Liam training everyone aged 12+, the schedule can be determined tomorrow. We will have a leadership meeting on how to move forward before lunchtime tomorrow. Also before sleep tonight I would like you to look over the Omegas responsibilities and ensure they are divided equally suited to their abilities, they shall be allowed a full nights rest as is everyone else in the pack. They will also be allowed to dine alongside the rest of the pack from this moment onwards. Please release a pack mindlink to ensure everyone is aware of this. If you hear of any disrespect towards them, inform me immediately...I will be more than happy to rectify that." I smile.
Relief sweeps across his face at my acknowledgment of his actions. "Of course your Highness."
"Alpha Lilah will do for now Beta, we can save the royal formalities for when we are speaking to those outside our pack."
"Alpha Lilah it is. I will get on with what you have asked and may I also say...thank you. Today has been a long time coming." He says with sincerity lacing his tone.
Looking at his tall muscular frame I take note of his athletic body and kind eyes. "Your mate Beta, bring her along to breakfast, I'd love to meet her." I say softly.
Noticing his eyes widen in surprise I ask "is anything the matter? I am correct in thinking you have a mate am I not Beta?"
"Yes..Yes Alpha. It's just the only female was the Luna allowed to grace the top table for meals" he says quietly.
"Yes I'm aware of that ridiculous rule the former Alpha had in place. However she is not just a female, she is the Beta female. With that comes responsibility, she will also have to be trained to the level we expect both physically and in her role to help the pack." I inform him.
"Ah..well I hope you are pleasantly surprised Alpha. I have been hoping for the day to come when her role is seen. I have trained her in combat secretly for the past 3 years since meeting her. I have also informed her of such roles she would be given however she has not been able to act upon that knowledge because of Johnson." Noticing his lack of formality for the previous Alpha I smile approvingly.
"Well that is going to change Beta. I see you have done what you can for her, now let me. I will see you both at breakfast." I say kindly dismissing him as tiredness sweeps through my body.
"Of course Alpha, goodnight" he says before leaving.
Walking towards the bathroom I run a lovely warm bubble bath. Lying down as I let the warm water cover my body I sigh in deep thought. "Are you ok?" Sky asks me. "Yes Sky, I just feel bad for allowing this to happen for the last 5 years." I say quietly. "I know Lilah, however we knew the rules given to us by our father. It was part of our agreement, no one was to know of us until we met our mate." She says softly, "don't allow yourself to feel guilty. We will strengthen this pack, mate or no mate." She says with a resounding sureness in her tone.
Allowing myself to soak in the warm water for another half hour I plan ahead thinking of what needs to be discussed with Warrior Liam and Beta James tomorrow. Happy with my plan I head to the closet seeing some of my clothes from my father had been put away quietly whilst I was soaking. Smiling to myself I change into a soft pair of pyjamas shorts and a tank top before sliding into the large kingsize bed. Putting Netflix on I snuggle down, "It has been a long time since we've been in such comfort" sighs Sky blissfully. Knowing sleep was soon going to take me I closed my eyes and allowed myself to sink down in the soft sheets.
