Chapter 7

Chapter 7 Yvette's POV Aubrey wasn't as arrogant as Black. Yet the certainty in his words rendered my denial flimsy. A wave of frustration flooded me. I had to thank him for reminding me that I had been r***d by Black, though. I didn't wanna get pregnant with Black's child. My question stunned Aubrey. He turned his head to look at Black sitting on the other side of the room. Miffed, Black pushed away the she-wolf who was massaging him from behind. "f**k off!" The she-wolf shot a baleful glance at me and left. I didn't get it. Why would a girl fall for a tyrant like Black? Aubrey bowed respectfully to Black and said, "Alpha Black, I've interrogated Miss Schwartz in every possible way." "Just tell me your conclusion." Black sat on a white wicker chair, resting one hand on his chin, his tone stony. "My conclusion is that she's honest," Aubrey reported. "Could it be that we made a mistake?" "No way!" Black sprang to his feet and strode over. Then he flung me back into the chair. Thud. It hurt so much that I felt like my bones were shattered. I gnashed my teeth and looked up with fury. "What the hell are you doing?" "What do you think?" Black leaned over and caught my jaw with one hand. "Listen, give me my kid now, or you're dead meat!" he glared at me and roared. Dammit. Just gave me a break already. "Can't you tell that I ain't lying? I'm not the girl you're looking for. Let me go. Now!" I wasn't used to having a man pin me down, so I wriggled like crazy. But he held me even tighter. "Let you go?" Black sneered, a hint of hubris in his eyes. "Nice try. You big liar!" "Your Beta has already confirmed that I'm honest!" He was driving me crazy. Why wouldn't he believe me? "Who knows what trick you've played? You aren't gonna fool me. I won't fall for your lies!" Black howled. "You are being unreasonable." I thought he would realize that the whole thing was just a misunderstanding. "Me? Unreasonable? I'll let you know the price for playing dumb!" He tightened his grip on my chin as if he was about to crush it. Lying under him, I felt a sudden bump. Embarrassed and enraged, I asked, "Didn't you say you didn't want to lay a finger on me again?" "Blame yourself for seducing me." He shifted the blame onto me. "f**k you." "I've met countless women like you. You're nothing special," Black spoke with heavy irony. Suddenly, he bent down and approached me. After a moment of daze, I realized what he was going to do. As his face was getting closer, a sense of helplessness overwhelmed me. In desperation, I tilted my head and used all my remaining strength to bite his neck. My teeth sank deeply into his skin. This was my last resort. Black groaned in pain and thrust my head away. Then he covered his neck with one hand, blood staining his palm. "Damn you!" Black growled. He lifted me up by the collar and slapped me across the face. My ears were buzzing, followed by a burning pain. I couldn't help coughing, tears streaming down my cheeks. He was a devil indeed. "How dare you attack me!" Black looked at me with bloodshot eyes. "Have you any idea what punishment you'll be facing after attacking the Alpha King? I'll banish the entire Silver Lake Pack!" "Whatever, I'm not the pack's Alpha anyway." I acted nonchalant. My words angered him even more. I eyed him fearlessly as his hand stopped in mid-air but never landed on my face. "Alpha Black, why are you bleeding?" Just then, Aubrey walked in. Noticing the blood on Black's neck, he exclaimed in alarm, "I'll send for the pack doctor right away." "Not now." With that, Black threw me hard onto the chair. My head hit the back of the chair because of the force. And I blacked out just like that.
