Sierra's POV
Looking at the menu as I left Aaron's office, I had full confidence our kitchen staff could handle everything on the paper. They might want to bite my head off for giving them this task without a lot of preparation, but they would pull it off.
"Hi Luna," a young woman named Mckenna said, waving at me.
"Hi Mckenna," I called back.
"Has Beta Danny had her pup yet?"
"Not that I've heard. I'm waiting for Caleb to mind link me and let me know it's time."
"Well, I hope everything goes well for them!"
"Thanks, have a good evening," I told her.
"Such a sweet girl," Brooklyn remarked.
"I know, she's never had an unkind thing to say about anyone."
"Do you think we can change this menu a little? Does anyone really wanna eat snails?"
"I'm sure they won't mind a couple of adjustments." In the kitchen, everyone was bustling around getting ready for dinner. Aromas of steak were wafting in the air, making Brooklyn drool. Not paying attention, we nearly got run over by a couple of omegas carrying a large pot of boiling water.
"Oops, sorry Luna!" one of them called as they continued their journey to the sink.
"No, that was my fault!"
"Luna, what can I help you with?" the head of the kitchen, Mrs. Hartley said, looking very pink in the face from the heat of the room.
"I'm sorry to interrupt such a busy time, but I wanted to talk to you about the Alpha summit as soon as possible."
"What about it? It's being held in a different pack."
"Not anymore," I told her, handing over the menu. "It looks like they've changed it at the last minute due to a floor at Midnight River." Mrs. Hatley looked from me to the paper, sheer panic spreading across her kind face. "This is the menu we were sent, but I think we should make a couple of changes." She didn't say anything right away, but continued to stare at the paper, taking in every word.
"How many people are going to be at this summit?" she asked, looking up at me with wide eyes.
"Aaron said the guest list has over 300 people on it."
"300 people...." she trailed off, looking back at the paper. We had more members in our pack than that, so cooking for so many wasn't the issue. I think it was the thought of cooking for so many ranked members of different packs.
"I know you'll have no trouble pulling this off. You are all very talented and make amazing meals," I said reassuringly.
"Thank you, Luna. What changes were you thinking?"
"Well, Brooklyn doesn't seem to be a fan of snails," I began.
"Oh, and you are?" she snipped.
"Hush!"
"I think we can change a few things. Do you have a timeline of the events?"
"Aaron's working on that now, and I'll get that to you as soon as we have it."
"Sierra," Aaron's excited voice echoed in my head. "Caleb said it's time!"
"Holy sh*t, I'll be right there!"
"I'm sorry Mrs. Hatley, but I have to go. Danny's about to have her baby."
"Yes, of course dear!"
"I'll give you more information as soon as I have it!" Sprinting from the kitchen, I ran towards the hospital, almost trampling a few pack members along my way. Skidding to a halt in the lobby of the hospital, I realized I was the first one here. I really hoped Sharon and David were going to make it back soon. Taking a seat, I waited for either news from Caleb or Aaron to arrive.
"Can't we just mind link Caleb and ask what's happening?" Brooklyn asked impatiently.
"We're not interrupting him right now, he's busy and doesn't need us in his head." After a minute or two of sitting by myself, Aaron came barreling through the doors into the lobby.
"Have they said anything?" he asked when he spotted me.
"Not yet. I've only been here for a couple of minutes." He came and took a seat next to me, grasping my hand in his. I could feel how nervous he was for Danny through our bond. "She's gonna be just fine."
"I know, I just know how long they've wanted this. I don't want anything going wrong." Leaning over, I placed my head on his shoulder, taking in his mahogany scent. "I hope Justin and Austin aren't too annoyed with me."
"Why would they be?" I asked.
"I just ran out on them in the middle of talking about the Alpha summit, and how we should proceed with security."
"I'm sure they understand. You can always talk to them about it tomorrow."
"You're right," he said, turning to kiss the top of my head, causing a warm sensation to spread through my entire body.
"When are your mom and dad getting back?"
"Sometime today, they left the second they got word, but it's a long flight from Paris to here. It might not be until the middle of the night."
"At least they won't miss too much." Before he could answer, we both heard the doors behind us open. Jumping to our feet, we saw a very ecstatic looking Caleb standing in the doorway. Rushing towards him, I noticed tears falling from his eyes. If it wasn't for the giant smile on his face, I might have thought something was wrong.
"She's here! Danny did amazing, and they're both healthy and happy!"
"Congratulations!" I yelled, going in for a hug.
"That's amazing, man!" Aaron said, clapping him on the back before pulling him into a hug as well.
"You guys can come back in a few minutes to see her." Still smiling, he walked back through the double doors, leaving Aaron and I to celebrate. We hugged each other, while Brooklyn danced in my head.
"Our first niece," Aaron said.
"I can't wait to spoil her," I replied. After about ten minutes, Dr. Kinsley came out to take us back to Danny's room. Danny was sitting up in bed, looking tired but happy, eating off of a roll-up tray that had been brought up to her bed.
"Hey guys," she said.
"Hey!" I replied happily, going to give her a hug.
"How are you feeling sis?" Aaron asked.
"I'm good, it's been a long day but she's here now."
"Where is she?" I asked, looking around the room for a bassinet.
"The nurse took her for a couple of routine tests. She should be back any time."
"Where's Caleb?" Aaron asked, noticing his absence.
"He wanted to go with them. He didn't want to leave her for a second."
"That's so sweet," I responded. We talked with Danny for a few minutes, when Caleb came back into the room, followed by a nurse pushing a wheelable bassinet.
"Here she is," Danny said with a smile. The nurse parked the bassinet next to Danny's bed, and Caleb leaned over it, picking up the tiny bundle of blankets.
"This is Aria Wesley," Caleb said, handing the tiny bundle to me. Taking Aria in my arms, I looked into her beautiful, delicate face. They had her wrapped like a little burrito with a tiny hat on. Her eyes were barely open, but she had what looked to me to be a small smile on her face.
"She's beautiful," I told them, gazing at my niece with adoration.
"I want one!" Brooklyn purred lovingly.
"Weren't you just cowering the other night when Aaron suggested that?"
"Yeah, but look how cute and pink she is!"
"She looks like you," Aaron said, glancing up at Danny.
"That's what everyone keeps telling me too," she laughed.
"Do you want to hold her?" I asked Aaron.
"Absolutely," he responded. Carefully, I passed Aria to him, watching as his face lit up like a child on Christmas morning.
"Excuse us while our ovaries explode," Brooklyn said, half collapsed by the sight of Aaron holding a baby.
"It is a pretty adorable sight," I admitted. Aria made a little noise, turning her head in her blankets.
"When did they say you could leave?" I asked Danny.
"Dr. Kinsley said tomorrow morning. Staying here is more for her than for me." The good thing about giving birth as a wolf was that we didn't have a long recovery time since we healed so quickly. "Mom and dad should be back by then and it'll be nice to be back in our own space when they come to see her." Aria began to cry, still cradled in Aaron's arms. "She's probably hungry," Danny said. Aaron went around to hand her to Danny.
"We'll give you guys some privacy," Aaron told them.
"Like it's anything you haven't seen with shifting in front of each other," she joked.
"Doesn't mean I can't try and avoid it," he told her.
"Congrats again, you too," I told them as Aaron placed a hand on my back and we started towards the door.
"So, I hear Brooklyn liked the sight of me holding a baby," he said, giving me the side eye once we were out of their room.
"She said something to Cole, didn't she?" That was the one downside to being a wolf and mated. You didn't have a single thought for yourself.
"Yeah, and of course he couldn't help but tell me," Aaron laughed, pulling an arm around my shoulder, and pulling me to him. We passed by a bathroom and, unexpectedly, Aaron yanked me inside, closing the door as he pinned me against it.
"What are you doing?" I breathed, looking up into his glowing eyes.
"Didn't Brooklyn mention some good old-fashioned practice?" he growled; his voice laced with Cole's.
"Yeah, but only to me. We're in the bathroom!"
"Well, I can't wait, we've been away from you for too long."
"But we just..." The rest of the words were swallowed as he crushed his lips to mine. "Aaron..." I moaned as he moved his way down my neck and sucked my mark.
"This is what I wanted to do to you the first time I saw you walk out of that bathroom last year," he husked as he ran his fingers along the waistband of my pants, sending a shot of electricity straight to my core. Groaning, I groped for the hem of his shirt, pulling it out of his pants, as I began undoing the buttons of his light blue button down.
He pulled back from kissing me, to assist me with taking his shirt off. Aaron then hooked his thumbs inside the waist of my leggings, pulling them all the way down to my ankles along with my underwear. Kneeling in front of me, he glanced up, giving me a playful smile. I felt him kiss my inner thigh, which made me moan out in pleasure, feeling every tingling sensation shoot through me.
"I can smell how much you want me," he mumbled against the skin of my thigh, sending vibrations directly to my core, making me even wetter than I already was. "I also remember doing this to you," he cooed as he ran his fingers just above my pu**y, making me ache for his touch.
"Fu*k," I groaned, throwing my head back as he continued to tease me, running his fingers in a torturingly light way all around my folds, but never touching me where I wanted him most. The fire burning inside me was unstoppable, every sensation was raw and each touch he gave me set my nerves ablaze. "Please...." I begged.
"I love hearing you beg for more," he husked, kissing my folds, making me convulse with the amount of pleasure he was giving me. He was enjoying this, just like he had in my hotel room when we first met. Kissing me gently again, I tangled my fingers in his hair, trying to pull him as close to me as possible.
"Please," I begged again.
"Not yet," he breathed so close to my core, it sent goosebumps erupting all over my skin. He stood up and began taking my top and sports bra off. I put my arms above my head to help him, but he stopped with my sports bra halfway off, using it as a makeshift blindfold, but also to keep my arms pinned above my head. "Don't move," he whispered seductively in my ear as he spread my legs further apart.
