Austin’s POV The first night was winding down and everyone began going their separate ways. I didn’t have a patrol shift until tomorrow and I still had to go call James for our final talk before the big day. “We still haven’t figured out how to get Sierra alone,” Heeler reminded me as we traipsed through the snow after another quick look around at the patrol area. I knew it like the back of my hand, but I couldn’t be too confident. Nothing could go wrong. The sky was pitch black and the twinkling stars shone brightly against the contrast. We shook the snow out of our hair as we entered the pack house, bypassing the elevator that people were waiting for and using the stairs instead. “I’m working on that right now,” I told him, as if he didn’t already know.
