“Max!?” Kathy gasped.
“Hey, Kathy! Yes, it’s me!”
My eyes gaped while my head slowly turned. The voice was familiar, and his towering presence behind me somehow confirmed my thoughts. I knew this was going to be exciting.
“Elisha?!” Max’s eyes saucered as he looked down at me. “You’re here!”
“You know each other?!” Kathy asked as she stood and greeted Max with a hug.
“Yes! Oh, Elisha!!” Max smiled, drawing his arms wide.
"Small world!" Kathy commented.
"Right!?" Max chuckled.
I stood up and welcomed Max with a tight embrace. “Maxi, my savior,” I mumbled, squeezing his broad and tall body.
“Oh, my word…I didn’t expect to see you here,” Max wiggled as we hugged each other. We were like siblings who hadn't seen each other in a while. "I didn't know you knew Sam!"
