BACK ON EARTH

“I think this is far enough,” Lucien said. “ But It’s a bit dark,” Athena murmured her thoughts. King Lucien breathed in the thin air once more. The ally they appeared in was not too dark for him seeing as his eyesight was better than humans. “Let’s hurry. I want to sleep.” Athena followed by Mars side out of the ally along with Lucien and Eldridge. The ally they were teleported to was two blocks away from Lucien’s hotel. Haven spent many months there, Mars and Athena recognized the path the moment they stepped into the light. The road was bright and lively with cars zooming by and people going in and out of the hotel. Lucien turned to his uncle when they were almost at the hotel, “This place is mine, uncle, so there is no need to pay for staying here. But since you insisted, you’ll pay me back for the money you spend here, excluding the ones related to accommodation.” Eldridge silently nodded his head as they entered. He had to admit, he could see clearly how classy the place was. The building was tall enough to have hundreds of floors. The reception area was bright and spotless. Although he was used to having his people’s gaze trail behind him wherever he went in his pack, it was a different case here. The curious gaze that followed felt a bit new. But no one could help themselves. King Eldridge was the epitome of ‘male’. His eyes were as striking as his tall build. And for some reason, whether it be through their mateship or their new title as royals, Mars and Athena exuded the same sophisticated and regal aura as Lucien and Eldridge, and it drew all eyes to them. “How may I be of service?” The receptionist stuttered out in front of them, her cheeks burning bright. Lucien wordlessly showed her his card. Upon seeing the name written on the golden card, her eyes nearly popped out of her head. Vida took care of all of Lucien’s assets and employed new workers. But she made sure that each and every worker knew and recognized that card. “Sir Noah!” The blonde receptionist’s voice trembled as she exclaimed with disbelief catching the eyes of the other employees and onlookers. They all knew that the one who had that card was the boss. She quickly took out the keycard for Lucien’s floor and the key cards for the rooms on that floor. Lucien wordlessly accepted it and then turned to his uncle. “Is it too eye-catching?” He asked with a grin after seeing the slight smile on his uncle’s lips. “Nothing out of the ordinary.” The attention really wasn’t something out of the ordinary for them. “This is my uncle.” Lucien said to the receptionist, aware that the others were listening too, “He’ll be staying here. Treat him as you would me.” “Yes, sir.” They chorused. They headed towards the private elevator that only went to his floor leaving the others whispering behind them. Athena somehow found herself asleep in Mars's arms before they reached the floor. Lucien gave the key card to their old room to Mars so he could head in with Athena first. “I think this room should be good enough for you.” Lucien handed the other keycard to his uncle and showed him his room. “I’ll have my assistant here by morning to get things ready for you.” “mhm… You should get going now, your mates are waiting.” Eldridge urged him. He knew that Lucien worried for him, but his worry was unnecessary. “Ok. Goodnight uncle.” Eldrige locked the door behind him. The room was as big as his room in the packhouse and a little more extravagant. He turned on the lights. It was fully furnished. Only his footsteps were heard as he opened and closed doors, looking around until he found the bedroom. King Eldridge took a quick shower, exhaustion seeping in as soon as he saw the bed. Although he couldn’t find Rose’s house as things were, he remembered clearly the name of the hospital he went to with Rose. He was going to start from there and figure things out along the way because if he was sure of one thing, it was that as things were, he had no clue what to do and how to do it. The relationship between Lucien and his mates as Eldridge watched them, was almost mechanic the next morning. Their slight touches and teasing kisses. They were so affectionate with each other that, he felt embarrassed waiting for them to go meet Lucien’s secretary. “We’ll be meeting Vida at a dinner nearby,” Lucien said to his uncle as they stepped out of his suite. “I’ll brief her on what’s going on and get everything you’ll need ready for you.” “Does this mean we’re eating out?” Athena asked. “Yes, babe.” Mars wrapped an arm around her waist tucking her to his side as they walked down the hallway towards the elevator. “One thing I’m proud of is the junk food on earth.” Athena whistled after her words then looked towards Eldridge, she grinned,” You’ll love it.” Eldridge couldn’t help the smile on his lips at how Athena kissed her fingertips in exaggeration. “I’ll take your word for it… so long as there is meat.” He chuckled. Through the years that Mars and Athena moved to Anon and became a part of the family, there was no doubt that everyone was fond of the woman who spoke her mind without restraint and Mars who loved exploring new technology and studying Ave and Aeds sylv’r like Lucien. “Sometimes I forget just how obsessed you werewolves and Lycans are with meat.” She tsked. “Says the one who has been gulping down any meat she was given all this while.” Lucien teased earning a glare as they stepped out of the elevator. “ And whose fault is that?” she mumbled. Even Mars could do nothing but enjoy Lucien’s cooking, the man had a magic touch when it came to making any dish. It made Mar’s skills in the kitchen pale in comparison to his. Lucien drove them to the dinner they were to meet Vida. It went without a say that the four drew attention when they entered. The people’s whispers were loud and crystal clear to the four. The scent of meat and other foods bombarded Eldridge’s nose. It was sweet and spicy and without a doubt made him crave whatever it was. At the far end, sitting alone by the window was a slim woman dressed in a fitted dress with her hair up in a bun. She waved at them with a smile. “That’s her,” Lucien said and headed towards her. “Wow.” The word flew past her lips unintentionally as her eyes stayed glued to Eldridge. “Are all people from Anon this good-looking?” Vida’s heart drummed as she failed to whisper the words to Lucien. “You’ll have to see for yourself.” Lucien grinned. Vida drilled into his head his promise of taking her to Anon one day so much that it rang in his ears almost every time he saw her. “This is my uncle, Eldridge.” He introduced. “Hi.” Vida let out an embarrassing croak. Her cheeks burned bright as Athena snickered. “you must Vida then?” he offered a polite smile. Although he preferred to quietly sit by and let them talk he knew he had to say a few words to her since he would be needing her help most of the time. “Y… yes. That’s me… Vida.” She embarrassingly stuttered, seeming to have lost a few brain cells when he smiled her way. Having embarrassed herself to the maximum, Vida forced herself to look away from the masterpiece that was Eldridge to the younger mated masterpiece. She cleared her throat and then put a brown envelope on the table after they finished placing their orders. “Everything is in there. I worked my ass off to get everything ready on time since you barely gave me time to do so” She complained to Lucien. Her eyes moved between him and his uncle.
