First Lesson: Punctuality

809 Words
Amelia woke up at 11:00 am and remembered that she had a meeting to attend. Meeting with someone like David Penn is not something that someone like our dear Amelia could forget. She was scared and excited at the same time. She questioned the reasons of why he had chosen to help her, but obviously she was not ready to question his intentions. She needed help. Do not take me wrong, she was not starving or in need of any financial help. No, in the contrary, Amelia had enough money to live her life as careless as she like. She refused to use the money she had to her disposition because of difficult family affairs. Amelia was the daughter of one of the wealthiest men that ever lived in the United States. At the age of 11, Amelia had learned 7 languages, and traveled around the world. Her father was a rich but sweet man that spared nothing to make Amelia feel loved.  The difficult and dark side of our dear Amelia’s past was her mother. Her mother was a calculated, loveless, and cruel person. She almost never talked to Amelia when her father was alive, so it was not a surprise to anyone that after the father’s passing, the mother married again to her former spouse’s brother. Amelia of course being an inconvenience was sent to Canada with a monthly sum of $75000 to take care of her livelihood and a broken heart. This morning was somehow different. Our dear Amelia felt more confident in herself. Let us be honest, in the last few days she had been able to leave her home, gone outside, sit in a coffee shop and talk to one of the people who she believed to be the most intimidating creature in the planet. Not at all bad for an extreme introvert that hates the human touch and fears people stare. While drinking her coffee she thought about what to wear. That was a very great deal for Amelia, you see, while hating to call attention to herself, she loved clothes, make-up and pretty things. Feeling as brave as she felt this morning, she decided to wear a pastel blue dress, long to her ankles and with ruffles on the short sleeves. She had bought the dress more than 3 years ago and today she would wear it for the first time. Her hair was beautifully wavy and clean today, so she decided to wear it down. A little bit of pink lipstick and a pinch of Lotus scent on her neck. She was ready. Amelia walks as fast as she can to get to David’s place before 12:30pm. She knows that he hates impunctuality and she do not want to risk this opportunity. When she gets there, Amelia decides to let herself in, after all, that is exactly what David told her to do.  The small detail that she forgot is that her alarm was set for an hour early, and so were all the clocks at her house. It was not really a surprise that David was not ready yet to receive visits. When Amelia opened the door, she found herself in front of a very wet and naked David, only with a small towel covering his intimate parts. Water dripping off his hair, his thick expressive eyebrows, back and chest. His arms well-formed and muscular. David running his fingers through his wet hair was a sight worth watching. He was as surprised as Amelia.  A few minutes before he was just taking a relaxing bath after a stressful night of talking to editors and publicists. Now Amelia was in front of him with her big eyes and he felt naked. Not naked outside but inside. David felt embarrassed but did not show it. He slowly lowered his hand and looked straight at her eyes. His heart was going to jump out of his chest, but he controlled himself. You would think that Amelia would cover her eyes, or David would yell or hide, or both act embarrassed, but that did not happen. Amelia decided to quietly walk backwards and exit the penthouse while closing the door. David run to his closet as fast as he could while blushing and put on the first thing he found. Amelia still in shock waited in front of the front door just looking at the floor. David opened the door fast and like in slow motion Amelia looked up to find David’s eyes. Her hands holding the sides of her dress while she bites her lower lip. Amelia tends to bite her lower lip when she is nervous or angry. Finally, she lets go of her dress and stops biting her lip. I came early. -Amelia said softly. I know -David smiled with kindness.
