Earlier in the week, I let Chase know I would go. Hannah was going to tag along to keep an eye on me, but she was called into work at the movie theatre so couldn't come. Chase said he would come to pick me up. I heard a rumble outside and some yelling. Chase was sitting on his motorcycle. Behind him was a Jeep with a few people in it. The guy in the driver's seat waved at me as I approached. Chase took off his helmet. He nodded for me to get in the car with his friends. Uneasiness swirled in my stomach. I hopped into the passenger's seat, and the driver reached out his hand. “Hi, I'm Mike! Sorry for the crowd. We usually carpool."
