Blue Ridge Fortress

1988 Words
He finally arrived at the fortress of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Oddly enough, some of the barriers were still in working condition, granting it a little taxing to get to his desired destination; something that he should not have necessarily been surprised about, considering how powerful his king was in the first place. Nevertheless, he managed to get there and that was what mattered in the end.     When Kane approached the front door, he saw that it was practically blown through. Taking into mind, how physically strong and heavily guarded with sorcery this place was, it did quite literally surprise...and impress him.      “What on earth happened here?” He hissed as he looked at the destroyed front entrance. “Vellamy quatrine.” ‘Show me’ he said to the wall in a language unknown. As he spoke this seemingly simple incantation, he touched his hand to the wall of the building; and his mind coupled with his body was physically shocked and overwhelmed at the power that he felt, but most importantly what he saw.     There was a man-two, no, three-surely more. However, at the forefront, there was one in particular that stood out from all the rest. He was large and held a look of dominance and leadership. He was obviously an Alpha. 'Disgusting!' Kane thought as he remembered the abomination of the daughter that Abigail of the Gemini Zodiac brought into the world.     Even more interesting than that, were the two females standing next to him. There was a third but she was nowhere near seeming on the same level of power as the other two. Kane could feel their power emanating through simple memory. He hated to admit how amazed he was. But even more, was how exquisitely beautiful they were.      It was obvious that one was the mother while the other was her daughter. Both held long locks of hair, seemingly immense in its thickness and wondrous in its hues that mimicked the night’s sky. Both their eyes were luminous, reminding Kane so much of the moon and its magnificent glow-even with the younger of the two seeming to have a hue of frost blue in her opaque smokey like eyes, while the other’s was a seeming exact replica of the moon itself.     “Who are you?” He asked, before continuing to listen and watch what happened in not so recent a past……..     “Well, then we need to find our own way in then.” A golden red-haired girl said, stepping forward.     “Well, what do you propose, Luna?” One of the large men said. ‘Ah, so the little girl was of some importance after all-no matter how meager the title is', Kane thought as he continuously looked on.     “As I said before.”  The seemingly young girl said it was obvious that she was uneasy. Specifically when she glanced over at the other two females that seemed to be the strongest of the group. “We make our own entrance.” As she said this, the telekinesis wielded by her hand punctured the wall. Unfortunately, it didn’t do nearly as much as it had more than likely had the potential to do.     “It’s the power dampener.” The younger female with the exotic blue eyes stated-almost as if she realized how embarrassed this Luna girl seemed to be about not being able to take down the wall herself. Kane, being honest, knew that it had nothing to do with the dampener more so the fact that the wall was heavily enchanted with sorcery to safeguard anyone from breaking through to it. The girl simply wasn't powerful enough.     “You didn’t do it though,” Kane muttered under his breath to the young telekinetic luna as he looked on further into the past. “I wonder who….” His voice trailed off as he continued to observe.     “You need help.” The stronger and seemingly more important of the two continued to say.     Kane could feel the oncomings of a spat and skipped through the scene, though learning that one of the girls, the one that was called Luna, had a name; Alora. Nice to know, but he was far more eager to get the name of the other two that were with her. And maybe the Alpha wolf.      The girl with the blue eyes was obviously more invested in getting into the fortress than having a spat with the other. Without even lifting a finger, the c***k that this Alora caused within the wall was widened, the sound of it breaking through, vibrating through the area.     Kane continued to watch on as the girl then suddenly opened her eyes. She too must have been weaker than she previously thought. She then entwined her hands together, palm facing the cracked wall, and seemed to cause some sort of telekinetic wave. Kane could see the powerful aura of the wave vibrating toward the cracked entrance. This attack was far more powerful than before. The wall caved in with such force it gave off the appearance of an explosion, revealing a large black metal entrance door with a silver knocker.     “A knocker?” The girl that broke down the barrier said as she looked on curiously.     “Must be decoration.” The one that Kane assumed to be the mother had said, before, with a simple swipe of her petite hand, the door exploded, disintegrating into dust.       Kane pulled out of the visionary flashback-it causing him to take in the magnificence of the power that had taken down the barrier once more.     “Such power.” He whispered before heading into the castle to keep to his search.     He headed down the large corridors, every so often touching something to find what had happened along the way. And to his pleasure, he had finally learned the name of those that he gained interest in; Warren, Varick...Kazmiyah, and...Muñyirah. Who on earth were they? This question endlessly ran the course of his mind as he continued on his search through the maze-like hallways.      It was when he reached another room, his senses calling his interest to it, that he felt that he was actually getting somewhere. And again, there they were-all together; but then...there was another. One seeming not of himself and slumped against the wall. A seemingly large and strapping young man.     Somehow the girl, Kazmiyah, had suddenly become immensely weakened and could barely walk. Kane knew that there was only one person that could muster this sort of power-this sort of sorcery.     “What did you do?” He smirked as he continued to observe.     It seemed that this Kazmiyah and her loved ones had to figure out which one of the two was more important to save. It was evidently a hard choice, however; but in the end, it didn’t matter because the young Kazmiyah made the choice for them by sacrificing her own life before she could be stopped.     This suddenly caught Kane by surprise as he witnessed this. “Selfless and admirable, I’ll admit.” He muttered to himself. "Who would have thought that the moon could spawn such chivalry?" He mocked in derision.     He stood from where he had been to see the pasts of that day and looked around. The story was quite telling and very interesting but it did not lead him to the subject of his expedition into the Blue Ridge fortress.     He left the room and decided that he had enough of what felt like aimless searching. He closed his eyes muttering words of magic in his mind until he created a compass leading to the exact spot that he was trying to find.     As the trail gradually formed before him, he followed it until he entered a room where the silver line finally disappeared.     In the room, he saw exactly what he was looking for! But what happened? How could this have happened? He had to know. One last time, Kane delved into the memory of the walls to peek into the past……..     “Christoph!” Her cry was loud, her rage exploding every single door and enemy that was unlucky enough to get in her way. Her tears ran like crystal waterfalls as she relentlessly searched for the man that was supposed to be her father. “Christoph!!” She bellowed again through the seemingly endless corridors until she came to a stop at a large door, similar to the one that they first encountered upon entering the castle. Kane could feel the heat of her lividity-of her power emanating from the visionary flashback, himself. It was near overwhelming to an extent.     An ear-piercing cry left Muñyirah’s lips as she burst through that door. The door suddenly exploded from its hinges. As she looked around, she trashed everything in the room, the walls crumbling as she entered further into the domain.     “Mun .”     The sound of his voice made Muñyirah whip her head in the direction from which it was coming. Without further notice, she rushed him, prepared to end his life. `“Mun, no!” The Alpha Warren came in, followed by this Falcon character; one that Kane also assumed to be an Alpha sorts.     Muñyirah, who had Christoph now, seeming prepared to rip him limb from limb, could barely hear Warren as her rage looked like it began to take over.     “So she did it.” The sorcerer said. Kane couldn’t help but notice that he seemed saddened by whatever realization he had come to. In fact, he was almost sure that the sorcerer was hurt.     “I didn’t want this-” The sorcerer started to say before he was cut off by the woman that he called  Mun.     “Mun, no!” Warren said but before he could, she landed a hit, slicing through to the face of her father.      She doubled back in a slight wince of pain as she felt blood trickle from the side of her cheek as well. She then looked at her father incredulously before doubling back at Warren and Falcon.     As Muñyirah stood there trying to take this in, Warren spoke. “He dies, you die.”      The sorcerer sighed as he realized that this Mun would not make a move against him, despite seemingly having nothing to lose.     “Knowing this, and you still won’t ac-”     The sorcerer’s words were halted in his throat as he felt Muñyirah’s moon blade impale him in the heart. He looked at her incredulously.     “I’d rather you die with me...than try and salvage a life that will have no more meaning once all whom I care about are taken by your hands.” She suddenly collapsed to the ground with him gripping the blade that she had impaled into his heart.     As Muñyirah’s eyes rolled back, her life gradually fading away, the building began to shake violently. Then sudden darkness so bright shot from Muñyirah’s body that it nearly blinded everyone that stood in the room.     The force of the light darkness was so intense that it blinded Kane as well, pushing out of the flashback. It was almost as if it could not be seen. Something powerful-more powerful than anything he had ever encountered prevented him from seeing the whole of what happened next.     He walked over to the comatose man that lie there on the floor, callously left by those that defeated him.      Nevertheless, there was still hope, however as Kane felt for his pulse to take in the weak, yet steady heartbeat pulsing from his neck.     “Don’t worry, my leige. You’ll have another chance.”
