Out For Blood.

475 Words
ALPHA JACKSON REID The wind whistling through the trees was almost enough to cover the sound of the leafy undergrowth being torn up by the claws of thirty huge wolves running at full speed through the forest. Jackson's head was full of the murderous thoughts being passed through the mindlink he shared with his pack. His pack of bloodthirsty wolves lived nothing more than the thrill of hunting down rogues on their territory and ripping them to shreds. Their reputation was known by every wolf, they were feared worldwide and nobody messed with them without being killed for it. As he powered on, expertly weaving through the maze of trees, Jackson pushed the shouts of his pack warriors to the back of his mind and focused on the scent of the two shewolves he had sensed on his territory. Most other alphas wouldn't kill a woman but he wasn't just any alpha and he had a reputation to uphold. Feeling the rush of the wind through his fur, the ground beneath his feet and his muscles moving smoothly in a steady rhythm it was like electric was flowing through his veins. He could almost taste the blood already in anticipation of making it clear whos territory the rogues had strayed onto. All of a sudden he came to a stop and his pack members followed suit, paws sliding to a stop in the dirt and all turning to look at him as he sniffed the air. "What's the matter Jax?" came the voice of his younger brother and Delta Adam through mindlink. Snapping his teeth in Adam's direction he snarled and his orders boomed in everyone's heads at once, "They've masked their scents, spread out and find them immediately!" Instantly all of the wolves sprung into action, sniffing and tasting the air in all directions for any sign of the trespassers. After hours of searching Jackson called his pack back home, sick of the complaints that they're 'never gonna find them' or that they were hungry he decided to call it a day and head out again tomorrow. Upon arriving home he sulked straight to his living quarters, slamming the door behind him and evoking silence throughout the whole house as nobody dared make a sound and disturb the angry alpha. Only when they heard the shower turn on did they resume what they were doing. After slamming the door Jackson stormed straight to the bathroom and turned on the shower. Whilst he waited for the water to get hot he ran his fingers through his sweaty hair and growled lowly in frustration as he paced his bedroom. He punched a hole in the drywall next to the bathroom doorway in anger before walking in and stripping to try and relax his muscles and wash away the dirt of the day in the steamy water.
