SERIES of meetings welcomed Becca when she turned to work. She did not hear a word from her immediate boss since her leave of absence was not extended. The reports that the account manager asked from the account officers from around the State poured at her emails the first day that Becca came back.
As a penalty from the short vacation she had, she went home late for three straight days. Work piled up on her table from the days that she was out of the office.
Mira was in the living room of the unit when Becca arrived at her apartment. She put the take away pizza on top of the table.
“Freshen’ up, babe.”
The tall woman nodded before she headed to her bedroom.
Fifteen minutes later, she went back to her mate. Mira is in the kitchen. The aroma of the cheesy pizza is in the air.
