The fire crackled in the living room, showing shaky shadows across the walls. I leaned back against the couch, running my hand through my hair, trying to focus on anything other than Rina being just a few rooms away. The air felt heavy, like every moment we didn’t acknowledge the truth between us was wasted space. My brothers sat around, just as restless as I was, but none of us dared to say it out loud.
Rodolfo, my wolf, growled in the back of my mind, always vocal when it came to Rina.
