I smiled as I saw Annie wearing the dress I had given her. I would've gotten more for her if I knew she would look this adorable in it.
"Hi," she said shyly. She was looking around nervously as if she was afraid.
"Did you have any problem sneaking out?" I asked.
She shook her head no. "I still don't understand why you are taking me to the party," she said.
"Why the hell can't I take you?" I said irritably.
"I don't know...what if your friends get the wrong idea? Shouldn't you go with Lily?" she asked.
"Nope. She annoys me," I said. I don't blame her for being confused about this. Even I don't understand why I was suddenly acting differently toward her. I felt like I couldn't go a day without seeing her.
"I thought you said I was a loser."
