Episode 12

Vikram’s POV

    Me and Nihal reached the bungalow and saw one person waiting to welcome us. Nihal went near him and spoke to him about something and came near me and said, “Mr. Rajput is inside the bungalow and is waiting for us,” and came and stood behind me.

    As soon as I walked into the bungalow, Mr. Rajput came towards me with a wide grin and welcomed me inside and took me near the couch and offered me a seat and sat in front of me and said, “I am really sorry, but I don’t have much time.”

    I turned towards Nihal and he walked away from there and I put the cover in front of him and said, “I want to use these photos to save my wife,” and he took the cover in hand and looked at the photos in shock and said, “her life will get spoiled. She will never be able to become the queen.”

    “You can save only one daughter,” I said and he thought for some time and said, “I need some time, both are my daughters, I can’t choose between them or kill one for another knowingly.”

    “Mr. Rajput, I am not forcing you for anything, but I can’t push my wife in danger knowing about the consequences, she is ignorant of the facts that Sarah had a boyfriend,” I said.

    “I also had no idea that she had a boyfriend and moreover I don’t think these photos can help Chhavi in any way,” he said.

    “I read the rules book and in that one point is there, where if the queen is ignorant of the facts, her punishment will be simple, like exile for a few months or days,” I said and Mr. Rajput went into deep thoughts.

    “King Vikram, if you think my one daughter’s punishment can be reduced with the help of these photos, then I think I can go for it, as I don’t know when Sarah is going to return and if she returns also, I think I will send her to another country,” he said.

    I smiled and arose from the seat and forwarded my hand for a shake hand and said, “but still I want some time and the King Shekhar is returning in two days.”

    “No, he will return in 10 days, as I have made arrangements,” said Mr. Rajput and I looked at him suspiciously.

    “I am also reading the rules book and I also read the point you came across, but still I want to wait for Sarah to return and give her a fair chance to prove her innocence and next week Chhavi is having exams as well and I don’t want to disturb her exams,” he said and I understood he is thinking both as a father as well as the king, as he don’t want to punish his daughter without knowing her version, and don’t want Chhavi’s education to get disturbed. He is really a true king.

    I walked out of the bungalow and he followed me and when I reached the door, I said, “when are you going to eliminate your enemy? How many chances are you going to give him? Don’t let him win because I know you are the best king and your son can take over it very well under your supervision.”

He smiled and said, “I am just waiting for Sarah. I will wait for her for two more days. If she doesn’t appear, I will turn my attention towards my son’s safety.”

I smiled and walked towards my car and Nihal came running behind me and said, “they already planned many things.”

“Nihal, I think you know the importance of privacy, hope you are not going to leak anything in front of anybody,” I said and settled myself in the car.

“Yes King,” he said smiling and ignited the engine.

Chhavi’s POV

    I am not understanding how to impress him, I don’t know how to kiss him back and how to control myself when he is touching me.

    “Hey Queen, what are you thinking?” asked Payal coming towards me and I said, “I don’t know how to impress the king, I don’t know how to kiss him back as well,” and she stood before me asked, “how can you say that? Nobody teaches how to kiss and all those. What have you been doing for the past two weeks?”

    “He used to kiss me and I used to stand there without moving,” I said and she started laughing.

    After some time, she composed herself and looked here and there and said, “the king is going for a meeting for three days, then you and I will be alone, I will teach you how to kiss.”

    “You are going to kiss me?” I looked at her with wide eyes and she replied, “not at all, I am not that type of girl,” and started to go away from there when I asked, “why are you not getting married to Nihal?”

She turned towards me and said, “We are not going to get married any time soon and I am not sure as well that we are going to get married as well.”

“You love him and he also loves you, then what are you waiting for?” I asked and she smiled looking at me and was about to tell me something, but her mobile started ringing and she walked away from there.

In the evening when the king came into the room and made himself comfortable on the bed, I slowly went and sat near him and asked, “why Payal and brother can’t get married?” and he looked at me and asked, “Who is your brother?”

I bit my tongue and said, “I mean Nihal,” and he smiled and said, “if you want to call him brother, I have no problem with it,” and I smiled and asked, “why can't they get married?”

He smiled and said, “when Payal came to my mother for work, she was just 16 years old and my mother thought she can’t do any work, and she just asked her to keep an eye on all the maids, and she used to keep an eye on all the maids and used to go into the store room and play with my old toys and in the evening she used to come to my mom and report about all the maids, and one day she came to me and asked that she wants to take some of my toys to her house and when I asked why, she replied that she has a younger sister who is just 10 years old and her father is suffering from paralytic attack.

When she turned 18 years old her father also passed away and there was no one to take care of her younger sister, so she decided to get her married first and then settle herself.”

“But he loves her and he can accept her sister as well,” I said and Vikram thought for some time and said, “she is very smart, whatever she is thinking is right, what if tomorrow they will have a fight over something and something may slip from his mouth, which can hurt her sister.”

“Ask her to get married, we will take care of her sister,” I said sternly and he looked at me confused.

“King, we will open one institution, where we will give shelter to all those who needs shelter and are dependent on others, I mean I am not saying that Payal’s sister is not having shelter and all, but she might also be feeling bad that her sister is not getting married because of her,” I said and king looked at me for some time.

“King, I know it is not easy, but we will initiate something, which will be beneficial for others, and we can give Payal’s sister the same job as hers,” I said and he smiled and said, “I need some time to think it over.”

I just nodded and I am happy that he listened to me and didn’t stop me in between and hugged his hand and rested my head on his shoulder.

Vikram’s POV

    Chhavi’s idea was good, but I can’t promise her anything as it will take time to take permissions and look for the site and I am not sure whether I can give time for all those or not, so I asked for her time.

    When she rested her head on my shoulder, I informed her that I will be going on a business trip and will return in two to three days and she said, “okay.”

    “Chhavi, remember that you have to study and give exams as well,” I said and she started making circles on my hand and I don’t understand what enmity she has with her studies.

    I turned her face towards me and asked, “do you have any problem with your books?” and her face became dull and she said, “my dad used to help me in my studies, I never used to study as I never got the time to look at the books, as I was busy with Sarah’s work and dad used to help me by explaining everything to me.”
