Josiah and Sloane have been enemies since college. None of them want to surrender to each other, always wanting to beat one another, but Josiah thought of a way to defeat her, and soon had Sloane under him, moaning and surrendering in bed.

It was purely physical between them until Sloane got pregnant. To avoid a scandal, Josiah's parents forced their son to marry Sloane. As if an unplanned pregnancy and marriage aren't enough, Josiah's first love came through the door just when things are getting better between them.

Sloane was hurt when Josiah chose his first love over her and escaped with his heir. She met a handsome young CEO who wants her, but Josiah showed up, wanting her and their baby back.

Will she go back to his arms when he chose his first love or will she give a new love a chance?

Chapter 1
Chapter One SLOANE It was a Friday night, and there was no work tomorrow, so I agreed on a night out with some of my college friends I hadn't seen in forever. I ate the chicken alfredo I cooked and showered before preparing for the night out. Living on my own for five years now has taught me how to be independent. I am not the best cook out there, no, but I try my best so I won't starve. I walked around my small apartment, wearing nothing but my undies, vibing to a song as I got ready. My apartment is nothing special, really, but I enjoyed decorating it. My walls, ceiling, kitchen, furniture, and pretty much everything else are white because it's my favorite color. I just think it looks clean and pure, like how the color white symbolizes. I wore my outfit for the club, which was a white spaghetti strap top with a leather black blazer. I paired it with a brown leather skirt that fits my body and shows the shape of my hips and ass. I finished it with red leather ankle boots. I let my long natural brown wavy hair fall down my back and just put on some light makeup that highlights my face. With a thin wing eyeliner on my siren eyes, I let out my naturally thick eyebrows and lightly curled my long eyelashes. I smeared a touch of highlight on my nose and finished it with a pink lip gloss on my full lips. I have a rather fierce, or a 'resting-b***h face' as they call it, and putting on heavy makeup will only make me look like I was looking for a fight. I can't even count how many times I got into a fight because of it. I wasn't even in a bad mood or asking for a fight; it's just how my face looks. What can I do about it? Contrary to what I look like, I am your average w**********l whose life revolves around work and home. I don't go out often, and I rather enjoy my solitude. Once done, I snatched my black sling bag and practically threw everything inside before leaving and getting into my white car. It was the first thing I bought when I saved up enough from work. I work as a sales manager at a famous clothing line called 'Wayne' that has its own branches and mall. My years of being a good and top student paid off because my salary was enough for my needs and so much more, but instead of buying expensive things, I chose to save up to buy my own house someday. So far, I can proudly say that I am more than halfway there. I drove to the club my college friends told me and parked outside. I instantly saw them when I walked to the entrance, and we squealed and jumped around while hugging each other. We have different careers, so it wasn't really possible for us to see each other often. Brenda, Natalie, Patricia, and Georgia are my college friends aside from Tabitha, my best friend, who won't be able to join us because she has other commitments. They are the girls with whom I shared my problems, and my college life would have been boring without them. "I miss you, girls," I told them when we pulled away from each other. "It's because you never leave your nest to meet us!" Patricia, the most outgoing out of all of us, rolled her eyes and pinched my cheek. "I know, right? We often see each other, and I'm tired of these b*tches ugly faces, but I haven't seen much of yours." Brenda, the oldest of us, cooed and caressed my cheek in sarcasm. "Or maybe she got a boyfriend!" Georgia, the loudest, claimed, and they all gasped in surprise while looking at me. "What? No! I don't have a boyfriend!" I denied it and laughed, but they narrowed their eyes at me. Natalie, the observant, scanned me from head to toe. "I don't believe you. That is the face and body of someone who constantly gets her coochie watered." My face almost burst into flames, and before they could interrogate me even more, I was already pulling them inside so they would forget the topic. After waiting in line, we were finally allowed inside, and we chose a vacant table between the dance floor and the bar. We ordered our drinks and food and chatted as we waited for it. The club called 'Sunrise' isn't that packed with people, and there are still some vacant seats, or maybe because it's just really big and it can fit up to a thousand people. I heard there are VIPs upstairs. "Oh my God, girls, isn't that Josiah?" Natalie pointed, and my head snapped to where she was pointing at a group of men who came down from upstairs. "You mean the super yummy football player? The 'Josiah Wayne'?" Georgia exclaimed while using her fingers to make invisible quotations. "Heh. The guy who can't beat Sloane?" Brenda, who had her face on her chin, scoffed. "Oh, I remember how they fought like it was the end of the world." "You are working at his company, right? Isn't he like the CEO there or something? That explains why they came from the second floor," Patricia asked me, and they all turned to me, and my face automatically scrunched up. "Yeah, yeah, that's all him. The football player, the guy who can't beat me, and yes, I work for him, and he's as annoying as ever. I can't believe I still have to see his face here. Ugh!" I groaned and made a face, glaring at Josiah's way. Josiah Wayne is my boss, the CEO of the company I work at, but as Brenda mentioned, he's also the guy who can't beat me. From high school up to college, Josiah and I have been each other's number one enemies. We often fight each other for the number one spot, and I can confidently say that he never won against me. He remained second to me, even though he was my boss now. A smirk found its way to my face when a memory of the past entered my mind. I was in my second year in college taking up the course of Business Ad and our grades will come out soon. Everyone was anxiously waiting for our grades to see if we would make it to the third year or if some of them would have to go back. That wasn't my concern because I was confident I would make it; my only concern... is if I maintained my spot. I missed a day because there was an emergency at home, and I was afraid it would affect my grade. My eyes connected with a pair of blue eyes glaring at me from where he was sitting two chairs away from me. There was an invisible current passing through our eyes. Josiah Wayne, my number one enemy, and competition. I hate to admit it, but he was the only one close enough I can call my competition. Josiah is your typical jock with a handsome face that he uses to his advantage, but unlike the other airhead jocks, Josiah is a smart guy. We have been classmates since third grade in high school when he transferred to our school, and we have discovered that we are each other's competition since then. We always want to beat each other not only in grades but scores. Up to this date, however, he still hasn't beaten me. I always have a few scores and grades higher than him. I heard he would inherit his family's business, unlike me, who's a breadwinner, so I needed to study hard to get a good job with a high-paying job. Not everyone is lucky like him, who already has a secured job waiting for him. The professor entered, and my heart drummed in my chest. I don't want a lower grade, not only because I have a scholarship to maintain, but because I don't want Josiah to beat me. He was already arrogant and a typical man who thought that men would always be greater than women; beating me would only inflate his already big ego. The professor started to give our cards, and some looked defeated while some looked happy. As usual, Josiah and I were called last, and Professor Murphy called us together. Josiah and I narrowed our eyes at each other when we were handed our cards, then we slowly peeked at our cards. "1.50," Josiah cockily announced, and he earned cheers from his fellow jocks. My shoulder slumped and I looked down in defeat, and I saw how a smug look crossed his face, and his friends started to push him in the air. While he was upside down, I let a smile form on my face, and he frowned because I knew he recognized my famous 'I win' smile. "1.25." I showed him my card and tapped his nose with it. "Try again next time, Wayne." I laughed and left him with a defeated and angry look on his face. I was snapped out of my stupor when our orders arrived, and Josiah was nowhere to be seen. I excused myself to the restroom and noted how dark the outside was. One can literally bump into someone, and that's what happened to me. I was on my way to the female's restroom when I bumped into Josiah, who just came out of the men's restroom. Our eyes automatically turned into slits, and we glared at each other. "If it isn't the smartest girl." Josiah taunted me with a smirk, stepping closer to hold me but I stepped back. I found myself looking around, nervous that someone might see us together, and he noticed it. "What? I bet you don't have the guts to kiss me in public," he continued while looking around as well. "After all, your friends can easily catch us in a place like this." I sent him a glare. He really knew how to hit provoke me by testing my ego. As if I'd let myself lose. He raised an eyebrow and I pulled him close by his collar before connecting our lips together in a kiss.
