I broke our kiss to say. “I want to be yours officially,” I whispered with my arms around his neck. Kaspen had never shown me anything but compassion and patience. I knew I didn’t owe him anything for that but my heart appreciated it. I went so long without the comfort of love. Then Kaspen gave me Josie and I felt it and now he was giving me himself and his pack. I wanted to finally let myself love the person who had given me so much. This was a choice I made that wasn’t for survival or obligation. I felt obligated to go back to my hometown, like that would solve all problems with my identity.
