Alyssa felt trepidation over the prospect of going into the study. Something Dylan also picked up on as he watched Alyssa stand infront of the closed door with fear in her eyes. She swallowed audibly, fighting every instinct that told her to turn back.
“You can do this,” Dylan encouraged.
He slipped a hand into hers.
Alyssa nodded but couldn’t bring herself to push through as memories threatened to overwhelm her. Dylan observed her closely, realising the extent of her terror and how hard it must have actually been for her to go into her father’s study to try and find the antidote to his poison nearly 6 years ago. She’d done it to help him.
Now it was his turn to help her.
