Jordan shook his head and lowered his eyes to his feet. “I swear it's just the dress you’re wearing,” he claimed. “I’ve been told that.” Nessa wanted to know what he was really thinking. If she had shifted, she would sense his mood. She would have some idea if he was really being truthful. What if she was feeling all of this and none of it was genuine? And that thought had done it.
