The laughter and chatter that had filled the kitchen faded as the sun began its descent, casting long shadows across the room. Ciara glanced at the clock, surprised to see how quickly the afternoon had flown by.
"Oh my gosh, Jasmine, it's getting late! I should head home and get dinner started for Galen." Ciara suddenly announced.
"Yes, you're right. Liam will be home soon, too." Jasmine nodded in agreement.
Ciara rose from her chair, preparing to say her goodbyes.
"It was so good to see you, Jasmine. I'm so happy for you. And I'm so excited to meet your little girl." she said, with a warm smile.
"Thank you, Ciara. It means a lot to me. And I'll be sure to let you know as soon as she arrives."
Ciara turned towards the door, but then she stopped, her eyes widening in surprise.
