Chapter 5Eason didn’t make it to his car when he left the airport the next day. His mind might have been preoccupied as he thought about what to do once he got home, but he was on the sidewalk outside one of the terminals heading for the staff parking when a car backed right into him. It wasn’t his fault, and he kept telling the hospital staff as they took x-rays of his right leg and put it in a cast. He kept telling the nurse over and over. He was repeating himself, but he couldn’t stop. After several minutes of telling her about how he’d walked on the sidewalk and the car had come out of nowhere, she patted his hand and told him it was the pain meds making him loopy.
