Arrival of my cousins

Elizabeth POV

“I’m so happy right now. When I heard that my cousins were coming back from their trip, I was super excited because of Julia, and I’m sure there’s so much gist waiting for me”.

Julia has been my confidant since have been in this house, always there for me whenever I needed her, I’m so happy to have as my family.

Johnson and Janet are just like my aunty and uncle, always looking for ways to bully me, even when I’m older than Janet. Janet is just nineteen years old while Johnson is the oldest among us, he’s 26 years old. Julia and I are the same age maybe that’s the reason we are so close. She understands any of my gestures towards her.

There was a time when she took me out for shopping, I enjoyed myself that day even though we later ended up in trouble when my uncle got back from their meeting and they couldn’t see me anywhere around the house.

My uncle needs me every time he’s back from work, I will always be the one to serve him a glass of water for him to step down, that’s what he always says.

If I wanted to poison the whole family to death, I can do it with all the things have passed through in this house, but my conscience always reminds me of who I am, I don’t want to be like them at all and I have to think of Julia, I know what it feels like to loose your family and I wouldn’t want anyone to pass through that sort of things. I’m not heartless and I’m going to prove to them that I’m not some of kind baggage to use and dump or throw s**t at anytime they wanted.

When he came back from work that day,he didn’t meet me at home it was a very big story because when we got home, all the whole family is around except me and Julia, I wonder maybe that called themselves together because they are never that early from work before,so when we got home and met them we were shocked.

I particularly was shaking from head to toe, not only do I put myself in trouble but also Julia, or you thought they wouldn’t punish her just because she’s their daughter, big No! they gave her a punishment by telling her to wash the whole family’s clothes, that was not the first time they will be punishing her because of me and she didn’t mind at all. I know you want to hear my own punishment, well I was told to scatter all the house and rearrange them exactly how they were before, by the time I was done I was so tired and don’t forget I do the cooking in this house, Julia apologized because she thought it was her fault but I told her not to worry because she did me a favor of letting me go shopping with her and picking my clothes by myself, I was happy we went out that day, at least all my clothes look beautiful on me.

Car horning can be heard from outside and that my cue that they are back, I can’t wait to see them most especially my lovely Julia, believe I miss those two also.

“Elizabeth! Elizabeth!!

“Yes!” Oh that’s Julia calling me. I was grinning from ear to ear, just the sound of her voice is making me all giddy inside.

I enveloped her in big hug. All the family were looking at us, and Janet was looking at me with jealousy of stealing her sisters heart so much.

“How was your trip?” Asked Elizabeth.

“It was so much fun and I have a lot of gist for you, I got you many nice things and all in your favorite color which is baby blue” replied Julia.

I was dumbfounded at what she said, she still has time to buy clothes for me, maybe this is the angel my parents sent for me to guide me.

“Why are you crying?” Asked Julia.

“I’m just so happy to hear that you remembered me”.I don’t even know I was crying till she said so and that’s to be expected considering the rate of emotions passing through her eyes for me. I can see love, joy and a look that told me she misses me so much.

We break out of each other’s embrace so I can greet the rest of my cousins, but the look I received told me that I should my know my place, Janet eyes almost popping out with the way she was eyeing me.

All of us went inside and they all sat at the family dinning table while I served them their food. I gave Julia her favorite food and she was more than happy to eat it.
