I’m having breakfast with Jared before he goes to work for the day. I’ve been awake since five-thirty this morning. I had a restless night, and I believe it was because Levi wasn’t next to me. I know we haven’t known each other for long, but I’ve found I seem to sleep better with him there. Jared was still awake at three o’clock this morning, so we couldn’t even sneak into each other’s room. I have no idea why my brother stayed up late when he knew he had work.
“Any luck with a job yet, little sister?” Jared asks, sitting across from me after getting his second mug of coffee.
“I have no interviews next week. One is for an assistant position with great pay and benefits. The other is for a barista, not as good, but it would do me for now.” I smile.
