Chapter 11
Aria’s POV
I have been here for 2 months now, Luca hasn’t forced himself on me since the night after the wedding so that’s nice. We haven’t talked and I don’t know what has changed in him but I'm happy he has been leaving me alone. I try to stay in my room when he is here only leaving once he has left for the day. I wake up this morning not feeling very well. I try to get up and shower but that just makes me feel worse. I climb back in bed and try to rest.
Knock knock...
“Who is it?” I ask not wanted to get out of my bed.
“It’s me dear” Heidi replies
“Come in”
“You didn’t come down for breakfast after Mr. Rossi left. Are you ok?”
“I just don’t feel very well” I reply
“Would you like some ginger tea?” Heidi asks
“Uh yea I'll try that thanks”
Heidi brought me some tea but it just didn’t smell good and it was making me more nauseous that I just dumped it down the bathroom sink. I decide to take a bath hoping that soaking will help me feel better. I turn on the faucet letting the large black soaking tub and poured in some lavender scented bubble bath. I strip off my pajamas throwing them in my hamper before climbing into the warm bath.
Luca’s POV
I’ve been working at my warehouse a lot lately trying to keep my distance from Aria. Shortly after the wedding my mother showed up here unannounced and heard a private conversation between me and Leo.
Flashback
“Hey man how’s things going with the wife?” Leo ask’s
“It’s going alright, she’s quiet doesn’t come around unless I demand it. Then when I need a piece of ass I take it.” I laugh
“She still hasn't willingly given herself to you?”
“No but that’s ok I kinda like the fight” I smirk
“Have you heard anything from her parent?” Leo ask’s
“I warned them both not contact before I bought her, it’s in the contract.”
“LUCA ALESSANDRO ROSSI! I BETTER NOT BE HEARING YOU RIGHT!” My mother screams from behind us.
“Hello mother I didn’t know you were stopping by.” I reply calmly
“Did you buy Aria!?”
“It was more like an exchange” I reply trying to make it sound better than it is.
“Please explain yourself Luca, RIGHT NOW!”
“Aria’s father came to me offering anything in exchange for his company back. So, I got Aria and her father got his company.” I explain calmly.
“YOU BROUGHT HER HERE AGAINST HER WILL!” She yells
“She gets anything and everything she could ever need; I get a wife and her father gets his company. I see it as a win for everyone involved.”
*SMACK*
My mother slapped me across the face... I was shocked, and pissed.
“What the hell is wrong with you!?” I ask
“I’ll be downstairs if you need me boss.” Leo says excusing himself.
“Luca I am disappointed in you! You best start treating that girl with respect! You treat her like you love her more than anything in the world! Like you would want a man to treat Sofia! If you can’t do that, I’ll take everything from you! And don’t think I can’t because I can and I will Luca!” She didn’t wait for a response from me she just left. I was so pissed, threatening to take everything from me. I earned this title! I was born into this family, born into this life but I had to work hard to prove my worth as a leader.
End Flashback
Ever since that day in my warehouse I haven’t talked to my mother or my sister nor have I spoken to Aria. I figured it would be best to give her space after everything I did to her if I really was going to make this a real relationship like my mother wants. I have been leaving early before she gets out of bed and coming home late just to avoid her.
Aria’s POV
I have been feeling sick all week. I haven’t been able to keep anything down all week.
“Aria I have brought you some chicken noodle soup crackers water and ginger ale. You should try a little something, at least the broth from the soup to keep you hydrated.” Heidi says as she comes into my room.
“Thank you Heidi I will try something.” I say rolling over in the bed to face her.
“Aria you look so pale. How much have you been able to keep down?”
“Not much honestly” I say shrugging my shoulders
“Maybe you should see a doctor.” Heidi suggests
“No, no doctor Heidi, I'm sure I'll be fine in another day or so. It’s just a stomach flu, I'll be ok.” I reply with a weak smile. She just nods and leaves me to my soup. I have some of the broth from the soup but the noodle and chicken just doesn’t sound good right now. After I finish what I could of the broth I settle into my bed to rest. Before I know it, exhaustion consumes me and I drift off to sleep.
Luca’s POV
I pull into the garage after a long day at the warehouse. I walk into the kitchen to see Heidi warming my dinner.
“Good evening sir”
“Evening Heidi” I reply with a smile. I grab a beer from the fridge sitting down at the small table in the kitchen waiting for my dinner. Heidi brings me a plate of lasagna and homemade garlic bread.
“It looks delicious Heidi, thank you.”
“Thank you sir. When you are done with your dinner, I’d like to speak with you before you head up for the night please.” Heidi states.
“Heidi you don’t have to wait sit. Is everything ok?” I ask.
“Thank you sir, it’s Miss Aria. She hasn’t been well all week. I offered to arrange a doctor for her but she has declined. I’m concerned about her getting dehydrated. She hasn’t been able to keep most anything down. I had made her some homemade soup for the broth today and I think that went ok but she didn’t have much.”
“Thank you for letting me know Heidi and thank you for taking care of her while she is ill. I’ll arrange for a doctor to come in the morning.” I reply.
“Thank you sir, goodnight.” Heidi says as she heads out to her living quarters.
The next morning
“Good morning Dr. Moretti, thank you for coming on such short notice.”
“Of course, Mr. Rossi” he replies. I lead him up to Aria’s room and knock on the door.
“Come in.” Aria calls from inside the room. I walk in with Dr. Moretti following.
“Oh Luca, sorry I thought it was Heidi.” She says covering herself with her blanket.
“No need to apologize Aria. Heidi said you haven’t been feeling well. This is Dr. Moretti, he will examine you. Dr. Moretti I’ll be in my office if you need me.”
“Thank you Mr. Rossi.” he replies.
