Chapter 6

Kyle:

“Yes, your chamber has been ready for four years now” I winked making Kiara’s eyes widen at the newfound information.

“Wait what?” She asked wide eyed and I smiled.

“I’ve seen you the first night I shifted and ordered to have a chamber set for you in my quarter” I explained softly, Kiara’s eyes were wide in astonishment.

The door to my chamber was knocked making Kiara jump but I nodded at her to calm down as I knew that it was Nasia who had arrived.

“Come in” I said, she walked inside bowing down at me, her brown hair was tied in a bun and she wore a knee long light green dress which covered her shoulders.

“You called for me Prince Kyle” Nasia said keeping her head down.

“I want my mate’s chamber opened, and her things to be ready for her just as she pleases” I ordered “put Dylan and Lorenzo as her guards and at her service, and set Lydia, Mia, Bianca and Leilah as her personal maids”

“Yes your grace” she said bowing down.

“I want nothing to be missing for her, should she desire something she gets it, no questions asked” I ordered and Nasia nodded.

“What about the Queen my prince? She should be informed of these requests” Nasia said and I growled making Nasia close her eyes as she feared the worse from me.

“Did you hear what I said?” I asked angrily and Nasia flinch and nodded.

“Then I expect no questions, my mate is my priority, and should a hair on her be touched it will be considered going against my orders. Do you understand?” I said glaring at her, Nasia bowed keeping her head low as she knew that she was unintentionally crossing limits that she shouldn’t be crossing.

“Your wishes are my commands your grace” Nasia said and I nodded dismissing her.

She walked out of the chamber quickly and I could hear her giving orders to get Kiara’s chamber ready and for the maids and guards to know their new duties.

“You know, I could do without all this Kyle” Kiara said softly, and I raised an eyebrow at what she meant “I could’ve done without the maids and guards, plus I wouldn’t have needed them”

“Kiara love” I said turning to face her, my eyes met hers and I smiled softly at her getting mesmerized by her beauty, my wolf purring in contentment at the scent of our mate being inside the chamber “you’re my mate and it makes me happy to see that you’re happy okay?”

“But…”

“No buts, I’ll be sure that everyone treats you the way you deserve” I said making her smile, a genuine smile too.

“How will I keep up with all the palace rules, regulations, and traditions?” She asked.

“You can take all the time you need; no one will be rushing you into anything” I said gently.

“Do you think your mum is going to like me?” She asked making me tense up, she frowned in confusion at the suddenness of my mood shift taking a step back in fear that I might hurt her making my wolf whimper.

“The queen isn’t my mother” I answered making her eyes widen “my mother died when I was a child”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know” she said looking at her feet, her eyes avoided mine and I put a finger under her chin raising her face to look at me.

“Don’t hide your eyes from me” I said looking at her, she seemed to relax as she saw that I wasn’t angry with her, my wolf purred at being close to her.

“Your wolf is purring?” She asked confused making me chuckle and nod.

“How’d you know that it was my wolf?” I asked and she smiled.

“Coblet is a werewolf too, I’ve seen him when he first saw his mate and how he acted around her” Kiara answered, and I smiled seeing that she knew what her friend was and accepting it.

“Most humans don’t accept us magical creatures” I said calmly, meaning us, the vampires, witches, and hybrids.

“Well when most of the technology has been taken away from them, their cars been burned, guns and weaponry been confiscated by you guys and leaving them helpless to accept your orders, what do you expect?” She asked and I sighed, I knew she had a point, plus the fact that she didn’t understand why we did it.

“Believe me if we could have it any other way we would’ve, but you know how they get the second they see someone who’s more powerful than they are, and I won’t even mention how their scientists become the second they see a creature that’s different” I said and she nodded in understanding.

“Why do you accept us?” I asked.

“Well for starters Coblet is my best friend and he saved me the night my stepfather kicked me out, I would’ve been dead if he hadn’t” I tensed at the word and Kiara seemed to notice as she smiled softly.

“And we grew closer as we got older, I was there by his side the first time he shifted, despite his constant requests for me to leave him and run, I wouldn’t let him suffer that pain alone” her words made my heart flutter, though I couldn’t deny the slight clench I felt that my mate was there for another male.

“Why did he kick you out?” I asked and she looked down at her feet avoiding my eyes, I smiled and put a finger under her chin wanting her to look at me.

“You can tell me when you’re ready love” I said softly and I could hear her heart race at my words before she looked away biting her bottom lip to stop herself from smiling.

Her eyes caught the paintings I have in my chamber and she looked at me as if asking permission to go and see them and I smiled nodding making her smile.

She walked over to them careful not to drop them as she looked at the details of the forest I drew, the paint was still wet having been drawing it before I went out this morning and with adding layer on top of layer of paint it needed it’s time to dry.

“You drew these?” She asked looking at the other paintings and I nodded smiling that she liked them.

“They’re beautiful” she said making my smile widen and my wolf to purr louder making her laugh as a blush made its way to her cheeks at the attention she was getting.

“Do you want to eat something?” I asked and she shook her head making me raise an eyebrow.

“Come on, you have to at least be hungry, I mean you were chasing and jumping over my carriage after all” I teased, she laughed shaking her head and running her fingers through her curly brown hair.

“Eat with me” I said looking at her and she raised an eyebrow.

“Come on we’ll eat here in my chamber, or the terrace if you want the view of the lake and city then when your own chamber is ready we can go there” I said trying to encourage her, she thought for a minute before nodding making me smile in satisfaction.

“Is there anything you’re allergic of?” I asked, and she shook her head.

“Though I don’t eat olives” she said making a disgusted face making me laugh and nod.

“No olives it is”
