"Fuck.... this is so messed up... it was so messed up of him to put so many responsibilities on your shoulders from such a young age..."
She got quiet for a moment and then continued as her eyes softened. Slowly, she turned to me and met my eyes.
"I'm so sorry for what happened to you."
Her words hit me hard. It felt like she reached into my chest and caressed my soul, making it feel warm and fuzzy. This reaction was not one I expected from her, but I appreciated it a lot. I could not help but smile at her kind words.
