“Where is she?” Renee asked as soon as the door closed.
“She’s in her room resting,” Benny answered.
“And that boy? The one who you recommended we show leniency?” Stephen asked.
“He’s in his room. They had a long time of playing Uno. The Princess is quite good at card games,” Benny said with a smile.
“Oh, she must get that from me,” Renee said confidently.
“And mother,” Tobias said.
“Why are all of the women in our family good at cards?” Stephen questioned, sounding resentful.
“Good genes,” Aimee replied. “Mother always beat father, too. She is the only person who can beat father at Scrabble. It drives him crazy. Even after several hundred years together.”
