I clutched the note and key card in my hand that I had found in my pocket where Tye had left it that night as I drove like a bat out of hell toward Nashville. I had read the note a hundred times while I had gotten cleaned up, and I knew the address where he was staying by heart. His last words of his note floating through my mind, please be my wife, I love you. Leaving my house by eight should have put me there by ten the way I was driving, but between the heavy traffic as I neared the city and the heavy storm that was beating against my truck, I had been slowed down by about an hour and a half.
