Chapter 5

Edmund's POV

I woke up with the bright sunlight coming from the window. It was my first night in my tiny flat, and I must say I slept like a baby. Whenever I slept in my penthouse earlier, I always had a feeling that the witch Lily Brink would trespass on my premises, and I would be forced to marry her.

Don’t get me wrong; no one can force me for anything. It was my mum, whom I love a lot, and she took advantage of that. Yes, one day, I got a call from my head housemaid from my parents’ home who told me that mom is so sick. I literally ran like someone has put my ass on fire and I broke two red signals that day but thankfully I didn’t get caught. When I reached there she told me she is going to die and want to see me getting married and in emotions, I said I will marry the girl whomever she will choose, and the next moment she was fit as feeble.

I got irritated seeing everything and left from there. After that day I never went home back. I used to talk with my parents on call but didn’t try to meet because I knew this time they will tie me and make me take the vows with Lily-the witch, which I would never do.

Let’s not talk about scary things in the morning and continue with our routine. I went into my washroom and took a long hot bath and thought about the things which I had to do today.

Once I was done with my shower I grabbed the robe and put on it. I entered my bedroom and sat on the bed and started checking my emails on my cellphone and put the TV on full volume with the business news channel.

I was busy with my emails when I heard the princess of Pruhan kingdom got missing. I turned to the television but till then her picture was removed from the screen.

“Here, girls are dying to live like a princess, and who got the opportunity are running.”, I commented and went back to my emails.

Once I was done with my emails I stood and brought out my grey shirt with the black suit. I removed my robe and looked at my toned abs with no fat at all. I applied deodorant and put on my boxers and started wearing my suit and within a few minutes, I was ready to leave.

I put on my Patek Philippe watch and sat on the bed and wore my shoes.

I left my room and went to the kitchen to see if I got anything to eat but nothing was there. First I thought to have breakfast in the office but then I got a message from my secretary Arina that one of my meetings was canceled so I thought of cooking for myself.

Since I am leaving on my own after graduation so I can cook really well. I cooked pancakes with maple syrup, white sauce pasta, and noodles.

I had a few pancakes and was full in no time so I put the noodle and Pasta in the refrigerator and left for the office.

While I was going for the elevator I bumped into the fake princess whom I met in the club that night and as usual, she ruined my mood.

Since I had no time to argue with her so I left and entered the elevator. I drove thirty minutes and soon I was in my office.

As soon as I entered my office I was greeted by my staff and soon I was standing in my cabin. I removed my coat and put on it on the back of the chair and sat on my king-size chair. Soon I heard the knock on the door and with my permission, my secretary Arina entered my cabin.

“Good afternoon sir”, she greeted me and I looked at her from my files and replied, “Good afternoon, Arina.”

“Please let me know my schedule for the day.”, I continued and she looked at her notepad and started telling, “Sir, you have a meeting with Jayson corporation after half an hour. After that Mr. WIlliams will come to sign the deal after that the advocate will come to meet you and discuss the legal issues regarding the last blunder of the club.”

I thought about the club incident and regretted that day because it was my biggest mistake in life but I dismissed all the thoughts and looked at her tensed face so I asked, “And?”

She hesitantly started saying, “And Ms. Brink came today but she left after seeing that you are not available in the office.”

“Thank god.”, I said and told her to leave. The thought of Lily Brink was not leaving my mind and suddenly an idea popped into my head I looked at Arina leaving but before she put her feet out I yelled, “Arina?”

She turned and I motioned to the chair in front of me and told her, “Please have a seat, I want to discuss something important with you.”

I thought of several opening words but didn’t find any so I stood and asked straightly, “Arina, Will you be my girlfriend?”

“What?”, she asked standing from her chair and I moved near her and continued, “For 1 week?” and she looked at me shockingly and asked, “Means?”

“Okay for 3 days only?”, I said and she pulled herself away from me and replied bitterly, “Sir, I am not that kind of girl who does time pass in the relationship.”

I heard her and understood that she took me wrong and I made her sit on the chair and I sat beside her next to her chair and cleared myself, “Arina, you misunderstood. I just want you to pretend. I will pay you whatever the amount you say to do that.”

I completed but she didn’t say anything so I continued, “I need permanently rid of Lily.”

“I am afraid she will kill me if she comes to know about it.”, She replied after ages which made me chuckle and I assured her, “I will make sure nothing like that happen Arina.”

“I will think about it sir.”, she told and I replied, “Thank you, Arina.”

After that, she left my cabin.

I was busy for the whole day in my office with back-to-back meetings that I didn’t get time to have lunch but I thought it worth missing lunch if I got my dream project. I tried but didn’t feel that the way to my dream was anywhere close because they put some weird demands but I can’t fulfill those. So now I have to think about something about that as well.

I sat in my car and suddenly turned to look back because I feel there was someone watching me but I didn’t see anyone. It must be my imagination so dismissed the thought and drove to my place. I parked my car and in no time I was on my floor. The floor was quiet and I liked it because I love silence and don’t like to get disturbed that is one of the reasons I chose this place.

I tried to unlock the door with my keys and found it locked from the inside. I cursed, “What the hell? I locked the door from outside”

Suddenly I heard something fall inside and I thought, “Who the f**k is inside?” and started walking here and there and pulled my phone out.

I thought in my mind, “Should I call the cops?” but immediately dismissed the idea and replied to myself, “No, it will become a headline and Lily will get to know my location. I have to manage on my own.”

I thought for some time and then an idea came to my mind and looked at the stairs which go to the roof and I decided, “I have to enter from the balcony.”

“Let’s go, Edmund.”, I encouraged myself and took the stairs to reach the rooftop.

Soon I was sitting on the roof and moved to the side where all the balconies were. I looked down and realized that I am not at so much height. I am on top and there are only three floors which I have to go down to reach the fourth floor and then I will see the intruders.

I had a fear that it is Lily but I can’t rely on guesses so I will check myself and if by any chance she would be found in my flat then I will file the case against her for trespassing.

Enough of talks, let’s do some action. I removed my coat and tied it to my waist. I slowly held the pipe and soon I was hanging on the pipes that will help me to reach my floor. I moved slowly down and I felt something bit my hand and I yelled, “Ouch, mosquito. I will kill you.”

I moved a little more down and suddenly something slipped from my pocket and looked down and I was filled with fear.

“Ohh god, it is so high. Save me.”, I pleaded to god and encouraged myself saying, “Slow and steady wins the race, Edmund.”

I slipped a little down and continued talking to myself, “Move slowly, just three floors down and you will enter your home.”

Slowly slowly I reached the balcony on the sixth floor and see a fat man with almost one hundred kg trying to kiss a teenage girl.

The girl was making faces and I concluded she must be with him for money and I commented, “f**k, cheap man having an affair with a teenager.”

With that, I moved a little bit more down and in a few minutes, I looked at the balcony on the fifth floor.

I looked in that flat and found the table filled with full of delicious food with chicken, mutton, and what so not.

My mouth got watery and I licked my lips and thought, “What delicious food. Should I enter and steal some food?”

But soon realization hit me hard that I am the billionaire CEO and I can’t steal food. Come on I have a cook who will make it for me so I talked to myself, “No, Edmund. Focus.”

Soon I was on the lower floor and I saw a beautiful girl wearing a robe and her white shaved legs were on display. “Ohhh my god, what beautiful legs.”

“Milky white skin.”, I said and looked at her wet hairs, and f**k I felt really attracted to her. I was hanging on the pipe and my whole attention was on the girl who was freely walking in the home and her long sleeves were also gorgeous.

“Seems, gods were free while creating the piece of art.”, I commented.

She was wearing a robe and walked to the dining table and I had a good look at her and noticed, “Wow, she has exactly the same robe as mine. Same interior and the same dining table, god much have been planning to make a fairy but seems he forget and created the gorgeous piece of art as a human.”

“Hey, where are you going?”, I said slowly seeing her walking into the bedroom I slowly entered that flat and realized, “Ohh f**k, this is my house and she is the princess who bumped into me.”

“Princess my foot she is a thief. I am going to catch her red-handed today.”, I concluded and hid somewhere so that I can catch her red-handed.
