I FELL SILENT for a few seconds. Even though what he said makes sense, I still have questions lingering in my head but I won't voice it out for now.
"I want to work." Hindi tanong 'yon. I was telling him what I want. He was caressing my arm with his fingers and it felt so good I am going to fall asleep if he keeps doing that.
"Okay, but once you're pregnant -- you are staying in the house. No work for you until our child graduates from college."
Mabilis akong napabangon at nabangga pa ng balikat ko ang baba n'ya. I saw him winced in pain.
"Sorry," hinaplos ko ang baba n'ya. "I'll get some ice," sabi ko sa kanya pero pinigilan n'ya akong bumangon.
