AWAKENED from her sleep, Janni looked around her the moment she opened her eyes.
She was in her bedroom in the apartment. Leonel is sleeping peacefully beside her. She has one arm around Janni’s torso.
Slowly, she climbed out of her bed.
Her heart has been beating rapidly in her chest. Blaze was fully alert in her head, too. It was her wolf who awaken her, in the first place.
“What’s wrong?” She asked her wolf.
“I don’t know.”
She checked on the clock. It was two in the morning.
Janni grabbed her mobile phone. There was no missed call nor an unread message.
She exited the bedroom and dialed her mother’s number.
“Yes, baby?” The sleep was obvious in Mama Becca’s voice. “Everything alright?”
“Yes. I woke up and felt uneasy. Is mom okay?”
“She is.”
“I’m sorry. Goodnight, mama.”
