“Did he say anything else?”
“No. Just smiled.”
“You said you were offended?”
“Yes.”
“But didn't report it at any time before Seattle?”
“Well, this was just a couple of days before Seattle, but no, I didn't.”
“Why not?”
“The triumph of hope over experience. I just hoped he would stop and let me do my job.”
“Now you've known the Senior HR team at Ellison since you began with the company, right?”
“Yes.”
“How would you characterize your working relationship with HR Director Bob Berg?”
“Good.”
“You got along well with Bob?”
“I did.”
“And you think he does his job pretty well?”
“Yes.”
“And you think that he cares about the company's employees?”
“I do, but I also think he has to protect the company.”
“So why didn't you confide in Mr. Berg?”
