Chapter TenScott Winslow liked and respected Judge Elizabeth Burke. She was on her game. She read all of the briefs that lawyers submitted before a motion, and she reviewed the applicable law, so she was thoroughly prepared before oral argument occurred. She gave both sides a fair playing field and she didn't countenance any bullshit. Department 11, Judge Burke's kingdom, was a place well-prepared lawyers liked to be, and those who were faking it, were in for a hard day.
