Chapter 17: It’s beyond complicated Lana Looking, I blink my eyes, shocked to find myself in the middle of an empty street. My chest heaves, and my body hurts as I rush through the streets. The sound of rushing feet behind me makes my heart beat wildly inside my chest, and glass shatters around me, making me cry out with fear as I run into a building. Slinking down on a nearby wall, I looked around and ensured I wasn’t followed. After a minute, I rest my head against the wall and close my eyes. I touch my cheek and wince when I hear a sound nearby. Reaching for a shard of glass on the ground, I lift it like a weapon. I look at the glassy surface and see that my ebony hair is tousled, my large, and my hazel eyes look sunken from lack of sleep. Let’s not forget how much my body aches fro
