If the existence of magic in this world is true and can be seen across the surface, Arion was thinking there must be science behind it. He's not thinking about uncovering the truth of magic, and rather implying within the fact that magic has their elemental component based on the attributes that can be seen around the surroundings.
In the first place, to understand the entire cluster of information on the existence of magic; one must fathom what is the basis of its creation. A trigger in which this intangible thing shall be converted though the flow of power coursing within the imagination of the spellcaster.
Written below the Health Points bar, it's none other than Mana Points or the mana used for chanting the magic along with the set of words upon a mage invoking a spell and alike. The flow of mana then shall be accompanied by a set of words and corresponding mediums.
Just by looking at Adriel casting her Fire Orb spell, he already learned these three important mediums as an aspect needed for a successful chant of magic. He had acquired and discovered a part of the concept of magic.
The first and foremost among the three mediums are called magic circles; when she observed her index fingers circling around while casting, it's not a type of inclination but rather she's writing something in the air. And the thing she was writing is the magic circles that shall become the canvas of its creation.
Upon creating the canvas or the basis of the magic along with the amount of mana needed, of course, it won't be called canvas just to be left untouched. That's where the second medium comes in which is none other than runes written all over the magic circle. These runes aren't the same with Germanic and Roman alphabet but rather their own ancient letters.
The words that were given life shall be converted into runes which will be written on the blank canvas. But after everything's well and done, one really can't tell the caster who invoked the spell, and there's where the glyphs come in.
In a fraction of second when Adriel chanted her spells, there was a small text of unknown origin written at the part of the magic circle that cannot be seen by naked eyes. However, since his eyes were faster enough to see it's creation, glyphs acted like a signature was what he beheld before it can truly be cast.
These three mediums are the way of understanding the art of magic spells, he guessed. A natural process that even the mages itself don't know there's this kind of background process behind it.
"Fire Orb!" Adriel chanted her magic without actually chanting it's creation. This spell is a kind of magic that allows the spellcaster from producing a ball of flames. Her incantation had no canvas, runes, or glyphs so the question lies is how can she do such a thing.
"Futile!" Arion covered his face and the ball of fire hurled covering his forearm.
The long sleeves of his polka-dotted sweater have been burned and it revealed the mechanical carapace of rings made out of alloys attach all over his arm. Her spell never did anything as he was protected by this overpowered defensive armament.
"Is he an alchemist as well...? That looks like harder than my armor, his form was deceiving." Random guy from the crowd remarked.
"He's not telling lies. At this rate, he really can defeat the Jade Princess without using magic." Another guy from the left commented.
They were all mesmerized in his way of fighting as he kept throwing techniques they have never seen before. The way he can fend off Adriel's magic spells and the fact he had a thin armor that can withstand a Magister's might was already mouth gaping.
"Tch. Don't get cocky!" Adriel was pushed around the corner when Arion began assailing his dominance.
"Here!" The soles of his feet slid with the small monotonous wheel attached to his armament making him move faster than before.
Dashing straight over his opponent's line of sight, he swept his legs once and before he could kick her knee, the entire platform became covered in ice and his legs were frozen solid.
Another castless magic is what he recalled. "No one can escape my Permafrost Trail!" Adriel spun her staff while creating an enormous magic circle. She wrote distinctive runes and glyphs inside such a large canvas while accumulating an immense amount of mana around the air.

Above his navigation panel was an icon of a snowflake signifying he afflicted by her Permafrost Trail and besides it was the symbol of a foot which has an arrow pushing downward denoting he's slowed down for a period of time.
"Heh. Not shabby." Arion was staring at his legs that were frozen within the temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit. And again, the carapace ribs of alloys protected him from getting frostbites upon direct freezing.
The crowd began whispering with each other when they saw how Adriel was preparing such a large magic circle and she's not just producing one magic circle, but a couple of layers in a singular spell infused with the attribute of nature fully taking advantage of him rooted in place.
"Wait, Jade Princess! You must not cast that magic, or else he will die!" Sarra stepped up in order to prevent the worst-case scenario.
"Not a single soul inside the Guildhall can stop me from obliterating his existence!" Adriel exclaimed, clenching her staff tight as she continues casting her magic
Before she could cast her deadly magic, Arion laughed hysterically from where he was standing like a madman. It means he was getting aroused by the fact he learned a lot from the battle against her.
His arms are wide opened, ready to embrace Adriel's magic spell. "Give me everything! Show me who you are!"
It was merely an act to trigger her sanity and to further provoke her agitated state.
"Arion... you were amazing... so let me end your pitiful suffering!" The layers of magic circles she was saving up shone a green light matching her robe. She began uttering the true essence of her magic spell. "Lock away thy evil in a kaleidoscope of mother nature's wrath: Vines of Ygdrassil!"
The basis of her magic spell's creation, Arion clearly saw her MP bar going down the hatch implying she truly gave everything she had. Magical thick vines of nature came traveling towards him to strangle him to death.
But they didn't expect what he did when he stormed his very fist; he struck and shattered his frozen feet as the ailment from above his HP bar was been removed. Before these vines could grab his limbs, Arion took a leap of fate and bounced directly at Adriel's position.
"What...?" The world Adriel knew became slow motion upon witnessing him above coming towards her.
"Gotcha!" Now utilizing the gravity and his entire weight downwards, Arion pulled back his right arm as the mechanical carapace covered his fist and before Adriel could react, he punched her straight on her guts that forced her from knocking down.
"You are mine now." These were the last words she heard as her sense of hearing faded away from the blaring crowd, along with the gentle kind touch she never felt before.
