Sydney smiled to himself. It sounded fun and perfect. They should talk more about that. He was lost in his thoughts as he threaded along the pavement together with all these busy New Yorkers. He needed to go across the street at the intersection several feet ahead of him. Sydney noticed that the light nearly turned red for the vehicles so he walked faster. He almost reached the crosswalk when suddenly many people shouted. Sydney turned to find out what happened but he also saw the light changed to red already. “Whatever,” he muttered and ignored those people and stepped down into the road, ready to cross it. Not five steps after he’d left the sidewalk, suddenly from his right came a car, swerving and twirling, going straight at him. Sydney felt transfixed in his place. He gaped and watch
