I landed hard on the flagstones, for a moment everything was silent, then suddenly there was noise everywhere, screaming and cheering. I peeled my face off the ground and looked around. I'd made it back to the lagoon, and the snake men were ecstatic. Suddenly, Royal was at my side picking me up off the ground.
"You had me worried there, girl,” he said, “let me get a look at you.”
He began turning me this way and that, patting me down, checking for bruises and lacerations. I knew I had a few, but I could heal them pretty quickly once I got home.
“You look good. A little worse for wear," Royal shouted above the din, "but you’ll be fine."
"Congratulations," Mastyx hissed as he appeared beside me, "I knew you could do it."
