The bidding finished and Madrigal Corporation won it. The project will be handled by their company. Everyone who attended the meeting admired Terrence for his presentation.
"Congratulations, Mr. Terrence." A guy from another company shook hands with him.
"Thank you!" He was about to leave when the guy asked him.
"Are you related to the late David Saavedra?" The guy asked but Terrence just smiled and continued to leave.
He then left with James who was there standing behind from the start.
"Where is Mr. Madrigal, James ?"
"He's waiting for us, Mr. Saavedra."
"Okay!" They then walked to the carpark where Denver was waiting.
James opened the car door for him in the back seat.
"Thank you!"
"Congratulations Sweetie! You made it!" Denver pulled Terrence close to him when he entered the car.
"I'm just doing my best for the company."
Denver cupped his face. "Let's have dinner tonight with Sheldon."
"No! I don't want any issues. If someone sees us they might start the rumors and I don't want people to make me their topic every day in the company." He refused.
"They will still know it as soon as I'm going to announce it." Denver refers to their relationship.
"What?!" Terrence was surprised. "I'm sorry but you haven't discussed it with me and our relationship is not even formal yet."
"Do we still need formalities? We cuddled, we kissed, we expressed how we like and love each other. Do we still need it? Isn't love more important than a formality?"
Terrence leaned his back on the car seat and closed his eyes.
"I'm tired!" Terrence suddenly felt exhausted after he heard all that his boss said.
"James to the company please," Denver commands James, who is just waiting for him to tell where they're going next.
On their way to the company, silence engulfed their whole journey. Terrence chooses to be quiet while Denver just observes Terrence on his side. They all went to the private lift but Terrence insisted on alighting at the Marketing Department level.
"Congratulations Sir! We heard you did great to win the bidding." Allen Reyes greeted him as he arrived at his office.
"Thank you, Allen. Can you make me some coffee please?" He massages his temples as soon as Allen Reyes leaves for the pantry.
His office phone rang. He picked it up just to know it's James telling him to come to the CEO's office.
"Please tell him if it's not related to any work, I'm not coming." He told James. He doesn't want to talk about the relationship or anything related to him and Denver at the moment.
Allen Reyes arrived with his coffee. When Allen was about to leave, his office door opened and they saw Denver with his impassive facial expressions.
"You follow me or I will drag you out from here," Denver said calmly but authoritatively.
Allen trembled a bit when he heard their boss' voice. He never met their boss face to face and now he was convinced that their boss is quite scary when he heard him talk and the way he looked at their marketing director made him nervous.
"Sir Terrence, are you going to follow him?"
"Allen don't worry I can handle this." He knows Allen is quite nervous for him. He patted his shoulder and left to follow Denver to his office.
Everyone in their department fell into silence as they saw the dark aura of their CEO but their eyes were full of curiosity when a few moments later their Marketing Director followed with a mouth pout. They all gathered at Allen's table to investigate.
"I don't know, I just trembled as I heard his voice. He just told Mr. Saavedra to follow him. That's it! I don't know exactly the reason why." Allen Reyes explained to them. They all went back to their tables and focused on their work.
It was really strange for them to see their CEO came to their department since Terrence is the new marketing director. During Mrs. Yu's term, they never saw him come down to talk to her.
At the CEO office
"James, close the door and don't let anyone come here," Denver said as soon as Terrence came in.
"Yes, Mr. Madrigal!" James bowed his head and left.
Terrence standing opposite of his working table in silence made Denver more furious inside.
"Terrence, please stop sulking like this." Denver leaned on his swivel chair and ran his fingers on his hair.
"I came here as I thought you called me for work?" Terrence was about to turn towards the door when Denver stopped him.
"You better not go out or I will tell everyone in your department or the whole company about us, right now!" Denver's voice echoed inside his office and made Terrence startled.
"Did you just raise your voice to me? Mr. Denver, I'm not like your other employee or whoever that you can easily manipulate with your authoritative manner. I am a person who needs some respect. Yes, I easily admitted to you that I like you and that I falling for you but it doesn't mean you can decide everything on your own. Hear me out before you decide." Terrence heaved a deep breath as he felt exhausted.
"That's why I told you just now before doing it."
"Telling me after you have already decided is a lot more different from discussing it with me first whether I agree with it or not."
"Terrence, for me they are the same 'coz I still need to announce this so everyone knows you are mine."
"There's no point discussing it with you Mr. Madrigal." Terrence made his steps to walk out of the CEO's office when Denver quickly did several steps to block him.
"I don't want you to go out until we're okay."
"I have a lot of work to be done." Terrence averted his gaze as he couldn't stand looking at Denver's eyes where he could see full of desires.
"Terrence, please." Denver held his chin and lift his head to look at him. When he didn't refuse, Denver crushed his lips aggressively.
He then parted his lips. "Terrence, please." In his whole life, Denver didn't beg from anyone, only Terrence.
Terrence didn't say anything as he doesn't want to make their misunderstanding more complicated. Denver released him, left him on his spot, and went to his private suite. He opened his wine chiller and took a bottle and poured some on the glass and gulped in one go. He breathed heavily as he thought of his conversation with Terrence.
Terrence immediately left the CEO's office when Denver left him to his private suite. He quickly went down to his office, took his laptop bag, and went out planning to go home.
"Allen Reyes, if anyone asks about me. Please tell me I went home as I'm not feeling well." He left a message to his secretary.
He is really exhausted and cannot work properly with the state of his mind.
He went home straight and rest and planned to pick up Sheldon when it's about time.
He took a shower after he woke up and get ready to pick up his son. He felt better and relaxed. He is so focused on driving to Sheldon school that he doesn't notice his boss' car following behind.
When he arrived at Sheldon school he got down to take him from the waiting area then they walked hand in hand to their car.
"How's your day baby?"
"Good Daddy! You?"
"Daddy is so tired but seeing you I became energetic again." Terrence turned to Sheldon behind and winked at him as they're waiting for the traffic to clear the road. It's time for picking the kids. That's why it created heavy traffic in front of the school. When Terrence thought they could go through the road, he maneuvers his car but a loud bang was heard from behind them. Another car hit their car from behind. The car's speed is quite fast and made a big dent on Terrence's car on the side and its rear bumper.
Denver and James, who saw the accident, quickly got out of their car and ran to Terrence's car.
"Sir, Sheldon is severely bleeding," James said as he took Sheldon who flew off to the other side of the back seat and hit his head.
"Take him out quickly and bring the car here," Denver responds while taking out the unconscious Terrence from the driver's seat.
They took the two to Madrigal Hospital. Denver called Chris Yap on their way to the hospital.
The emergency room is ready and the hospital staff is waiting at the emergency entrance when they arrive. The doctors attend them immediately as per Denver instruction led by Chris Yap is one of the long-time resident doctors in the hospital. He is one of Denver's best friends.
After half an hour, Chris came out.
"The kid needs a blood transfusion. He lost excessive blood because of the big wound on his head." Chris said while looking intently at Denver.
"Then do it! Save him!" Denver is quietly irritated by the way Chris Yap stared at him. "What?" He spread his arms asking his friend.
"The kid has a rare blood type and we don't have that blood in our store and it's difficult to find his match. But I know someone with the same blood type as him."
"Then bring that donor here so can start the transfusion. What are you waiting for?"
"He's already here."
"Where?"
"You!"
"What?"
"Your blood type matched the kid's blood type AB negative."
"Then let's do the transfusion then I'm willing to donate to save the kid."
"Why are you doing this to them? Who are they?"
"He is my new marketing director and the kid is his son," Denver replied as they walked towards the room where they were gonna do the transfusion to Sheldon.
Terrence in his room regains consciousness.
"Where am I?" He held his head as he felt dizzy.
"Mr. Saavedra doesn't move first. You need to rest." James, who was asked by Denver to stay for a while, Terrence.
"Where's my son?" He closed his eyes as he felt his head spinning.
"He is fine. He is in a recovery room."
"Why? Is he okay?" Terrence got up abruptly when he heard James.
"Mr. Saavedra, please stay. I'll take you there later." James pressed the button to call the doctor as Terrence got hysterical.
Chris came and gave Terrence a dose of sedative to calm him down and bring him to sleep.
"James, how long has he been working at the company?"
"More than a month already."
"Did you see anything strange about this father and son?"
James nodded.
"I think we have the same thinking but I am so confused."
"Me too, Chris. I even asked Mr. Madrigal many times but he answered the same thing about what happened six years ago."
"Okay, I'll go check the kid and that silly CEO."
When Chris arrived Denver was already resting on his bed.
"Tell me honestly Mr. CEO, who are these father and son in your life?"
"He is my new marketing director and he is his son." He is pointing at Sheldon.
"You know what I wanted to know about Denver."
"Are you trying to piss me off now?"
"I'm not! I'm just confused. And the way you panicked it's really strange for someone named Denver."
"Okay fine. I'm in a relationship with him but today we misunderstood and we followed him. That's why I'm there when the accident happened."
"And how do you explain the kid?"
"I also don't know. I've been confused since the day I saw him."
"Are you going to tell this about your parents?"
"They have nothing to do about my personal life."
"But you know your parents, right?"
"Do you think they will accept him? He is a man."
"Let me handle everything." Denver then got up from his bed and walked towards the room where Terrence is resting.
"Chris Yap gave him sedatives as he became hysterical when he woke up and looked for Sheldon," James told Denver as he sat next to his bed and pulled the duvet up to his chest. He pecks a kiss on his forehead.
At seven in the evening, Terrence woke up with Denver beside him.
"Where's my son?"
"Sweetie calms down, I'll take you to his room."
He then helped Terrence to get up and they went to Sheldon's room. The kid is still unconscious with some medical apparatus attached to his body. Terrence sobbed as he saw his son.
"Baby sorry, it's Daddy's fault. I've been so careless." Terrence caressed his son's face. Denver caressing his back as he stands behind him.
"Sweetie, it's an accident. No one wants it. Chris Yap said he is stable now and let's just wait for him to wake up."
Terrence held Sheldon's little hand and kissed it.
"You want me to ask the hospital staff to put an extra bed here for you so you can rest here with him and when he wakes up you are the first person to see him."
Terrence just nodded. Denver then told James to inform the staff. And in a few minutes, another hospital bed with complete beddings arrived.
The next day, Terrence was sitting on the chair next to Sheldon still waiting for him to wake up. Denver went to the company after he made sure Terrence had his breakfast.
Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. Terrence got up and opened it.
"Terrence, Terrence!" a woman in her thirties standing outside.
"Annie jiejie?" Terrence quickly embraced her.
"Why didn't you tell us you're home? If we didn't see the news we wouldn't know that you are here."
"News?"
"Yes! You presented the Madrigal Corp. on bidding that has spread all over the business world."
"But how do you know I'm here at the hospital?"
"I called Madrigal Corp. and I was able to speak with the CEO and he told me you're here. Where's my son Sheldon?" Annie then went to Sheldon's bed.
"Where is Jason?"
"I'm here silly!" A man with a big smile plastered on his face came in.
"How is my uncle?"
"Dad missed you a lot."
Annie Cheng and Jason Cheng are the offspring of his Dad's ever-trusted lawyer Alfred Cheng. They became his best friends too and even treated them like his siblings.
"Why didn't you tell us you're coming home?"
"It's a sudden decision."
"Did the Madrigal CEO treat you well?" Jason Cheng asked him.
He nodded with a thin smile.
"Do you like him?" Annie Cheng held his chin up to look at his eyes straight.
He averted his gaze to Jason.
"What?"
"Yes!" He answered.
"What?" The two siblings exclaimed in shock.
"We're in a relationship."
"Oh my....you know how many girls are dreaming to capture the heart of the Madrigal's CEO? Every woman who likes him wants to throw their naked body to him when they see him and you, you capture him that easily?" Annie exclaimed with her eyes glittering like stars with so much amazement.
"But I'm warning you, Terrence. Madrigal Family is relatively dangerous. As I've heard they're trying to arrange Denver's marriage to the heir of Ang Company."
Terrence was taken aback.
"Jason Cheng! You ruined the mood."
"I'm just telling him in advance in case he is ready," Jason responds to his elder sister. "Terrence, you have been through a lot in the past. I don't want you to get hurt again. I know you will manage to survive but you had too much." Jason Cheng patted his back.
"Thank you, Jason, sis Annie." Terrence is teary-eyed thanking the Cheng siblings.
"No worries. You are our younger brother. We will take care of you since you came back here. " Annie held his hands.
Terrence at least relieved a little as two days for him with so much happening with Denver left him in exhaustion.
He brushed off what Jason told him about the arranged marriage of Denver. It doesn't concern him. He let Denver handle his cìrcvmstances. For now, he is more concerned about his son.
