Chapter 6

Leana;

I slowly opened my eyes and I immediately got up as soon as I heard something not right.

But before I could get up completely, my senses suddenly tingled, so I lay down again and held my head.

Shit! What the hell happened?

The last thing I remember was that I had just returned to Avenir with Kira after she granted my request to revisit the country I grew up in.

After that someone bumped into me while we were leaving the airport, juice spilled on my clothes so I had to go to the comfort room to clean and change clothes.

And….

I closed my eyes again because my head hurt again. And it hurts even more when I try to remember what happened after I entered the comfort room of the airport.

I opened my eyes again and slowly turned to my side when I heard the door open. And my eyes widened when the man who bumped into me earlier at the airport entered.

He turned to me and smiled. "You're awake," he said. He placed his tray on the bedside table.

I don't know what to do. I feel so much trembling and I want to run away from this man but because of the pain I feel, my whole body is weak.

"You don't really have to worry, Miss Leana Avenir," he said and that made my eyes widen more. This man knows my identity. "I was hired by your brother, King Leaster, to rescue you away from the Vitale."

I slowly get up and look at him. "My brother?"

He nodded. "I am not really sure if you are aware but your brother didn't stop investigating about the crimes that the palace was throwing at you and he learns that someone has really framed you."

"W-what?" I didn't know what to say.

Ever since Kira took me to another country, I never thought that I would be able to return to my family. I'm slowly accepting that I can't escape from Kira anymore.

"And upon learning that you are in the hands of the Vitale Mafia, King Leaster immediately asked the Seventh Sector to rescue you and hide you for the meantime while he is gathering strong evidence that will clear your name," he explained. "And I am Strom Mercury, one of the agents of the Seventh Sector who was assigned to save and protect you."

I didn't say anything. Hell! I don't really know what to feel or even say.

I was framed. Stripped of my title. Thrown by my own family without even having anything in me. And now, he is saying that there is a possibility that I can go home because my brother does not actually believe the accusation that they threw at me before but he didn't have any choice but to punish me because of all the tampered evidence that they had before.

I should be mad. I should be asking for compensation. I should have reprimanded them for all the sufferings that I experienced because of their greed. I should punish everyone who was involved in framing me!

But...

I placed my hands on my chest and after a while, I couldn't stop myself but cried. But I am crying only because I feel relieved.

I don't feel anything against the people who made me suffer.

Because all I want right now is to be with my family again. That's all. Nothing more.

"Miss Leana?"

I wiped my face and looked at Storm. "Thank you," I said. "Thank you for saving me. I owe you my life.”

He shook his head. "You don't owe me your life, Miss Leana. I was being paid to save you and protect you until your brother finally cleared your name," he said. "Anyway, please have your breakfast now. I will just get out and help the residents of this island.” He didn't wait for me to say anything and just put the tray of food in my lap and he immediately got out of my room.

I immediately eat the breakfast that Storm prepared for me and after that, I roam the whole room.

It is not that big but it feels nice and cozy. Comfortable and I feel the freedom that I finally had ever since Kira took me away.

I decided to get out of the room. And I was greeted by the small living room of the house.

It's not really big. It is only enough for two to three people to live. But I think this is not a residential house. This is just like a vacation house since most of the things in this house still look new.

I wonder where this place is.

I got out of the house and I saw a beautiful beachfront not far away from the house. It has white sand and the water is crystal clear as crystal.

There are only fewer people swimming at the sea so it must be a private island and it is not open to the public.

A perfect place for me to hide from Kira.

There are also a few houses not far from the house that we're occupying. And it looks like Storm was already acquainted with them.

"Miss Leana..." Storm immediately approached me when he saw me getting out of the house. "Do you need anything?"

I shook my head. "I am just roaming around," I said. "But I am wondering where we are."

"Well, Kira Vitale is not just a simple man," he said as we continued to walk on the sand of the beach. "I don't know your relationship with him but it looks to me that he was really attached to you so me and my organization thought that he will do everything to take you back."

"So, you find a place where he doesn't have his connection since the palace is still not able to protect me?"

He nodded. "Actually, this place is also owned by your family but no one really thinks that you will stay here because it is too far away from the palace. It is not a really well maintained island because you are too busy with your work.”

My eyes widened as I heard that. “Oh my… Is this Estrella Island?”

He nodded again.

Oh my gosh!

I only know this place because of all the things that my mother talks about. She really loves this island that is why she begs the Xermin, the one who actually bought the whole country from its previous owner, to sell it to her because she wanted to own the island using his own money.

The Xermin didn't think twice and gave what my mother wanted.

But like what Storm said, it is not properly maintained because Mom was too busy handling her position before as the queen of this country.

And right before my father gave the throne to Leaster so that they will be able to enjoy the remaining time they have in the world, they got involved in an accident while they were visiting another country.

So, they didn't really have a chance to take care of it.

And the only thing that I know is that Realla, my sister, let a handful of people that will live here so it will not remain abandoned for a long time.

I guess, most of the people living here now were picked by my sister.

With that thing in my mind, I think I will be able to live here peacefully without worrying about Kira finding me.
