Noah pov
It’s been five days since he left the states. Noah had flew to Haven and then they bussed him into Corona. When he got to Haven they had sent him and the medical team with a s**t ton of medical supplies. The teams job before leaving was to go through the inventory and load it all into the truck before they could leave. Doctors Without Borders helped the Coronian people with their day to day healthcare as well as the war. Noah never knew that DWB had been in Corona for years. Noah helped going through the supplies along with the rest of the medical team.
Noah’s job was to make sure that there was plasma, blood, scalpels, sutures, clamps, all the supplies needed for the IV’s the saline bags, the tubes, and the needles. The list went on and on; luckily he had a checklist so he didn’t forget anything.
The other doctors in the group mainly had to deal with medications. Noah found out in corona people were affected by tuberculosis and similar diseases. Noah learned about it in medical school of course, but didn’t realize people still suffered from it. I guess being a werewolf you forget how humans truly suffer. The cure is minimum four months of strong antibiotics. The longest anyone is on them is generally nine months, but as always it depends on the patient and how resistant to the antibiotics the tuberculosis is.
The people of Corona also suffer from HIV, which is prevalent sadly enough in America as well so DWB bring medicine in to help. The medical team also are bringing in a variety of different medicines and medicinal things that they may need to the fleeing families to make sure they have the proper medical care. The truck was also loaded down with blankets, sheets, clothes, scrubs, beds, and non-perishable food items.
The medic team checked all of their supplies in Haven then the supplies as well as the medical team were put on a bus and bused into corona. We first stopped in Lavian, we jumped off the bus unloaded some supplies grabbed some food went piss and jumped back on the bus. The stop lasted less than an hour.
Noah stretched out on the bus since some people had stayed behind. Noah had been up for at least forty eight hours so he tried to catch some sleep. He didn’t know what lay ahead of him when the bus would stop again. Noah called it a bus, but it was more like a military humvee but they had painted Doctors Without Borders on the side so it didn’t get targeted by insurgents. Noah thought the sign made them more of a target, but he didn’t question the people who had been doing this a lot longer than him.
Noah managed to fall asleep, but it didn’t last long. Only a few short hours before he was shaken awake. The bus stopped, and they were in Star City. Noah was told it was the last stop before Ebsonia.
When the bus pulled into the city of Ebsonia Noah thought he was getting off. He was wrong. He was being sent to Rossia where there has been bombings on and off since this war has started. Noah got back on the bus and despite having little sleep was unable to drift off. It must be the adrenaline.
The drive was close to five hours, his mind drifting the whole time. Noah’s mind was of course on what he would find when he got to the clinic. Would it be like what he saw in the tv show M*A*S*H*? Or is that all bullshit?
However, his mind drifted more often than not to his mate. To Penelope. Just thinking of her made his wolf whine.
“I know, I miss her too buddy.” He thought. Niko just continued to whine as the bond stretched thin from the distance from his mate.
‘This has to work out,’ he told himself.
When they got to Rossia it was definitely what he would consider an eye opening experience. The second the bus stopped people asked if a surgeon had came with the supplies. I stepped forward, and I was pushed into a makeshift scrub room. Apparently there had been bombings near by all day and the casualties were being bussed to this clinic.
There were so many people waiting that some were dying in triage. Sadly that was the reality of war. War is hell. Noah did a quick scrub up and was shoved into the operating room. The operating room was crude, but being a werewolf he was used to it. Sadly werewolf’s tend to live in the Middle Ages regarding advances in medicines. The operating room here wasn’t much better and the people weren’t aware of the latest developments in medicine. It made for a rough OR session in more ways than one.
Noah spent fifteen hours in the operating room fixing people up. Noah at this point had been awake for three days so when the staff showed him a bed to sleep in. Noah slept for a full twelve hours before he was shaken awake again.
The days following were pretty much all the same. Noah worked from the moment he got up until he fell onto any empty bed he could find. He barely had time to bathe let alone to email Penelope like he thought he would. Yesterday however, he did manage to take an hour break and shoot her a quick email. The email was quick and to the point; Noah told her he got here, he was safe, and he asked about her sister. Then he found a bed and went to sleep.
Penelope pov
It’s been days since Lili was taken. The first thing that happened after teleporting to the pack house was checking on Callum. After everyone finished puking their guts up.
“Sorry about that, hazards of the trade I’m afraid.” Luka, Nat’s father said. Luka was the head of a very powerful coven in Colorado Springs. He was also Natasha’s father. Witches have mates or beloved’s I believe they are called. However, due to witches long life spans they tend not to meet their destined mate until they are at least several hundred years old. Svetlana is over three hundred years old and hasn’t met hers yet. I believe Luka just met his mate which has made for a lot of drama given he has a teenager with another woman.
When the group got back to the midnight howlers pack Penelope and Killian took off for the panic room immediately. The rest of the group followed in confusion. Killian beat Penelope there by a minute but given all the locks he had to open she didn’t miss the opening of the door, or the collective sigh of relief at seeing the precious little boy safe and sound.
In the days following Penelope stayed mainly with Callum in the safe room. Penelope knew her talents and they weren’t fit to this situation, they were right here taking care of her nephew.
When Callum asked where his mother was, Penelope replied that she went on vacation. How do you tell a three year old their mother has been kidnapped?
Then suddenly on day three Callum calmly looked to me and said,
“Kota says we should talk to grandma.”
“Whose Kota buddy?” Penelope asked curious to whom he was referring.
“My wolf.” He said simply while he continued to play.
“Killian, Callum’s safe but come to the safe room,” Penelope mindlinked her brother-in-law.
Killian appeared in the safe room but two minutes later, he must of ran right away. He looked haggard,
“What’s going on?”
“Callum, will you tell your daddy what you told me.” Penelope explained and Callum looked to his father.
“Kota says we need to talk to grandma.”
“Kota is his wolf.” She mindlinked and Killian looked astonished.
“Callum do you know why we need to talk to grandma?” Callum gave a tiny shrug of his shoulders.
“Tula told Kota.” Tula was Lili’s wolf, the both of them looked astonished.
“Did Tula say anything else?” Penelope asked and Callum shook his head.
“Okay why don’t we have Grandpa come stay with you, while me and aunt Penne go talk to grandma.” Killian suggested and Callum nodded his consent. Penelope was beyond surprised at this turn of events. To Penelope’s knowledge Callum had never even met his maternal grandmother or grandfather. They were not interested in Lili or Callum since Lili left the pack when she found out she was pregnant. Alpha Liam showed up a few minutes later, and the duo left for her parents house.
This meeting was not going to go well.

My husband was in the military and he was actually some of the first boots on the ground in Iraq. So I talked to him in reference to how things would likely be for our Doctor Logan.
