Dominique
The following morning we headed out of the mansion I lived in with my most trusted men and Amy, my wife. Why did everything have to go so f*****g wrong? I have no idea how those photos of her dead mother and grandfather ended up on the dresser but I had a good idea. When I found out exactly who had put them there would be hell to pay. They would wish for death.
I thought Amy and I were finally on the right path after everything that had happened. It was the second thing to put our relationship on the back burner. First, it was her using contraceptives. I could understand she was young and wanted more in life than to have children at twenty-two but most mafia families had heirs at that age and I wasn't getting any younger I was going grey with this pent-up stress I wanted an heir to take over my legacy so I could retire peacefully with my wife by my side. Obviously, Amy had different plans from mine.
Secondly were those damn photos that had marackasly shown up on her dresser for her to find those of her dead mother and grandfather. She was so damn angry that night. I knew some had planted them to tear us apart. Someone who knew what we had done to get her back, someone who was there, the one person there was bushido but I made sure to put a bullet in him so he was off the list unless he managed to survive the bullet I put in him. Someone also knew which room was ours. Only those close to me knew where it was and I knew that my brothers wouldn't betray me but someone had and I was going to find out who and bring karma to them.
We all got into the SUVS and I headed into town. « Savez-vous qui Amy a vu ce jour-là ? » (Do you know who Amy saw that day?)
"Nous faisons. Elle devait voir un Dr Rousseau. Ils étaient prévus pour dix heures du matin. (We do. She was scheduled to see a Dr. Rousseau. They were scheduled for ten am.)
« Est-elle allée au rendez-vous ? » (Did she go to the appointment?)
"Selon les dossiers qu'elle a fait." (According to the records she did.)
"Pouvez-vous scanner les dossiers de la raison pour laquelle elle est allée voir le médecin ? " (Can you scan the records of to why she went to see the doctor?)
"Désolé patron, c'est hautement sécurisé après cette confidentialité patiente et tout. J'ai essayé tous les moyens d'y accéder, mais les codes sont impossibles à casser. (Sorry boss, it's highly secured after that patient confidentiality and all . I've tried every avenue to get access but t codes are impossible to break.)
"Merde. Je suppose que je fais partie de ceux qui rendent visite à ce Dr Rousseau. (f**k. Guess I'm one paying this Dr Rousseau a visit.)
It took less than ten minutes to pull up outside the doctor's surgery. Lucien, Andre and I got out of the SUV striding casually over to the surgery our men spread out just in case someone was stupid enough to question us.
We all strode into the surgery, everyone had their eyes on us, yet said nothing.
Good they know better unless they want a bullet in their head.
"Bonjour comment puis-je vous aider?" (Good morning, how can I help you?)
"Bonjour. Je cherche le Dr Rousseau, est-elle disponible par hasard ? (Good morning. I'm looking for Dr. Rousseau, is she available by any chance?) I asked calmly.
« Malheureusement, elle est avec un patient en ce moment. Avez-vous un rendez-vous ?" (Unfortunately, she's in with a patient right now. Have you got an appointment?)
"Non, faites-lui savoir que Dominique Colbone est dans la salle d'attente." (No, let her know Dominique Colbone is in the waiting area.)
"Bien sûr, donnez-moi une seconde." (Sure, give me one sec.)
I nodded and waited patiently.
"M. Colbone. (Mr. Colbone.)
I looked at the receptionist who looked scared shitless. Good. "Oui." (Yes.)
"Dr Rousseau vous présente ses excuses et elle sera avec vous dès qu'elle aura fini avec son patient." (Dr Rousseau sends her apologies and she'll be with you as soon as she's finished with her patient.)
I nodded.
I was getting impatient, how long did it take one person to be treated? I was about to pull my gun when Lucian nodded in the direction of the woman walking out of the doctor's office with a young child that could've been me and Amy if she wasn't so damn stubborn and not run. I'll find her and we will have plenty of time to make bébés (babies.) my d**k was hard just thinking about it, but first I had to find Amy and to do that I had to find out where she was. And more importantly why she couldn't go to our family doctor.
The lady in her merely maybe mid-forties walked towards us, her smile never faltering.
"M. Colbone, comment puis-je vous aider ? (Mr. Colbone, how may I help you?)
"Je comprends que vous avez vu ma femme Amy, il y a quelques jours?" (I understand you saw my wife Amy, a few days back?)
« Vous savez que je ne peux pas répondre à cela, M. Colbone, la confidentialité des patients existe. Je suis sûr que vous en êtes très conscient, car vous avez votre propre médecin de famille. (You know I can't answer that Mr. Colbone, there's such a thing as patient confidentiality. I'm sure you're very aware of that as you have your own family doctor.)
I gritted my teeth. « Je suis un médecin très conscient. Mais je suis aussi très conscient que ma femme est venue ici et je veux savoir pourquoi. (I am a very aware doctor. But I am also very aware my wife came here and I want to know why.) I gritted out angrily, I was getting more damn irritated by the second in this woman's company.
"Comme je l'ai dit, nous suivons un code ici, M. Colbone, votre femme est peut-être venue ou non pour me voir et même si elle l'a fait, je serais en mesure de divulguer tous les détails d'elle lors d'un rendez-vous avec votre femme. Nous apprécions la confidentialité de nos patients. (Like I said we go by code here Mr. Colbone your wife may have or may not have come here to see me and even if she did I wpuldtn be able to disclose any details of her to an appointment with your wife. We value our patients' confidentiality.)
