Dodd hurriedly left Colonel Bingham's office and ran to catch up with Mary, who was busy trying to hail a cab. He jogged up to her, a bit out of breath, and said "hey Mary, but I asked you to wait up for me". She looked at him and turned away, still keeping an eye out for a cab. "Come on hon, why you gonna be like this, yeah I know I was acting up but please don't take it out on me like that" he pleaded. As cars continued to go past them, it suddenly dawned on him that she was exposed and could have been snatched.
