Nathan Rivera's POV
"I am here to meet my daughter." Mrs. Robert spoke as she stepped forward while I went to stand next to Janet.
"The f**k you are. How can you even stand in front of me after doing the s**t you did?" Sean growled as Mrs. Robert rolled her eyes.
"What? The s**t your sister did. You are piece of scumbag for believing her!" She yelled as Sean took a strode towards her.
"Leave now or things will get worse." He hissed as Janet shook me.
"Nathan, stop them." I stared at her for a while but didn't say anything.
"Let them be, my love. This is not our fight." I told her.
"Or what? What else can you do other than running away." Sean took a deep breath with his jaw clenched.
"I never ran away. You did." He had his hand fisted as I was ready if he did anything.
"Me? You must be mistaken it for your sister." She snapped back.
"Get out of my way you bitch." He spoke slowly.
"You calling me a b***h. You are a f*****g asshole, you fucker!" Mrs. Robert cursed at his face making him more furious
"Stop f*****g cursing at me, you little b***h!" He yelled at her.
"STOP! Please sto- stop" Janet cried as I took her in my arms and made her take a seat on the stool.
"What’s wrong with you both. Don't you trust each other?" Janet whimpered as Sean rubbed his face and turned away.
"I had so much trust in her and she broke it every time." His voice was low as if he knew something we didn't.
"I never broke your trust; you just trusted your sister a little too much." Mrs. Robert spoke as her eyes filled with tears but she quickly wiped them away.
"Oh please, my sist-"
"That’s it. No more arguing. Mrs. Robert can you come with me." I took her with me towards the bedroom that was meant for Sean. We entered the room as she sat down on the bed and held her face in her hands.
"You can call me Riley." She told me once she faced towards me. I smiled and nodded at her as she laughed, making me confused.
"You were always the quite little boy, just like your mother, yes you may look like your father but you habit and everything reminds me of her. I would love to meet her." I frowned. She doesn't know since she lost Janet when she was 9 and I was 12. So, my mom was still alive at that time.
"My parents passed away in a car accident." I told her as I turned to face the window of the apartment not wanting to look at her sympathy eyes.
"She will be remembered by you, me and all the people who smiled because of her. She was a great woman." I turned to face expecting a 'sorry' but she never said as she took a photo out of her pocket and traced it with her finger.
"I won't say sorry because she is in a better place. Better than this cruel world. Neither am I happy about it. I lost a friend and you lost a mother." She sighed as she got up and walked towards me.
"Take care of her. I don't want to be a trouble to you guys. I will take my leave now." She said as I couldn't speak anything at that moment.
"No wait! You can't leave." She stepped back as she shook her head.
"I can."
"I won't let you. I would love it if you stay with us. Janet needs you more than anything and I would do anything to see that smile on her face." She grinned as she chuckled but kept shaking her head.
"Please." I pleaded as her eyes once again filled with tears but like always, she wiped them away.
"Okay."
Janet Rivera's POV
"How are you my lovely girl?" I turned to face my father who left me when I was 5. He was my everything and I can't blame him for not knowing the truth. His sister was a wicked witch and played her own brother.
"I am good now." I told him as he stepped closer and took my face in his rough hands. His eyes glistered with tears as he kissed my forehead.
"I missed you so much, I shouldn't have left. Things wouldn't be like this, if I didn't leave. I wish I could have saved you." I gulped as he pulled me in a hug. In a long time, I felt peace knowing my father was standing in front of me, embracing me. And I thought he never liked me.
"I missed you too." I told him as I held his hands and laid my head on his chest.
"I hope Nathan is treating you right." He said after pulling away. I blushed and nodded.
"He is."
"It was a good decision of mine." He said proudly as I turned to face him in confusion. Wait so he-
"You told Nathan to marry me?" He chuckled and nodded as I couldn't help but laugh with him.
"Thank you. He is the best." I told him.
"Now all I want from you is forgiveness. For leaving you." He said with his head bowed.
"No don't say that. I forgave you a long time ago." I said with I tilted my head to get a look at him. He aged a lot as his forehead have wrinkles and his hair almost white.
"I love you, my lovely angel." I grinned as I yearned to hear those words.
"I love you too, dad." His lips curved upwards as he patted my head.
"Why don't you forgive mom now?" It’s as if his mood changed from 100 to 0. His lips tightened as his fist clenched.
"Never. She did things, that are unforgivabl-" I cut him off as I tried to tell him the truth.
"No dad. Listen to me, she never-" But he never let me speak.
"I don't want to hear it. I can't hear lies anymore. If you want to stay with her, I am fine but I don't want to see her face." I frowned as he rubbed his face again.
"Just stay happy my angel. I wanted to stay for dinner and the night but now I can't." He said with his voice distant.
"Don't go, you just came." I told him as I held his arm to stop him.
"I nee-"
"Sean, my wife prepared dinner and you will stay. It would be rude to me and her." Nathan stopped him as dad took a deep breath and nodded making me smile.

The dinner was quiet, no one talked much except me and mom. My dad had a little talk with Nathan other than that. It was really quiet.
"You cook great, my angel." Dad complimented as my lips curved upward making me blush.
"Mom taught me when I was a child." He choked on his food as Nathan passed him a glass of water. Nathan had his lips shut as if he was trying not to laugh. I hit his chest as he smirked at me.
"In bed babe, not here." He whispered making my eyes widened and cheeks red as a beetroot.
"What’s wrong?" Mom asked me as I shook my head and pretended that the dish was a little bit chilly.
"We need to get those divorce papers re-" My dad said but Nathan stood up as he clapped his hand as if he was about to give a speech.
"Okay, me and Janet would be going to Maldives tomorrow and I think you both should come. Since Janet needs the company." Nathan said with the smirk etched on his face. What was going on in his mind?
"Won't you Janet?" Nathan stared at me as he winked at me.
"Ah yes, it would be really great if you both joined. I want to make up for the time we missed." I spoke without stuttering and Nathan stared at me with pride. I told them as dad shook his head and spoke.
"Never. I am not going anywhere with her." He said with anger as Mom rolled her eyes.
"No worries Janet. I will love to join you both but I don't want to ruin your fun." Mom said with a sad smile.
"Please!" I pleaded them both but dad was not agreeing.
"No problem. It would be better if your father doesn't join us. I mean we can have fun." Mom said as she held my hand and all of a sudden something triggered dad as his jaw clenched.
"Fine, I will go." Nathan smile grew as he thought of something I didn't knew. The devil is playing something, something bad.
