Once we were dolled up, Dylan drove us to Club Ten, the closest club. I was both nervous and excited. Collins had done a good job in hyping me up this time.
I had meant it as a joke to my dad, but now I realize I wanted to do this.
Time to explore.
The loud music had me hesitating for a split second. Collins grabbed my hand and led me through the crowd of sweaty drunk bodies.
"Oh my God, look," Collins hit my hand, pointing at something that earned her attention.
"Where?" I asked, looking but not seeing what she was showing me.
"The bartender," she shrieked over the loud music. "Isn't he hot?" She gushed. I rolled my eyes. "Let's go over there," she said and dragged me before I could refuse.
I propped myself in one of the high stools by the bar. He was busy with the other customers, so we waited. I watched him carefully. He was quite built, almost like Chas- Ugh, why am I thinking about him?
Wearing all black, he looked like he was fresh out the runway. When he turned to our direction, I immediately realized why Collins had been so drawn to him.
He had prominent facial features.
"Oh, look at him," Collins said.
"I'm looking b***h, calm your t**s," I said, earning a laugh from her. It was loud enough to earn his attention. And boy when his eyes fell over mine, I suddenly had hot flushes.
His eyes were a vibrant grey colour. He had thick eyebrows and a typical nose with small pecky lips. Needless to say, the man was hot. I wouldn't admit that to Collins or anyone for that matter.
"Doesn't he look like one of those 'most sexiest Arab boys'?" Collins leaned over to ask.
"What?" I laughed at her.
"You haven't seen those?" She took out her phone and went to good. Once she found what she was looking for, she shoved the phone in my eyes. I blinked away the blinding light and pushed the phone.
"b***h, are you trying to blind me?" I looked at her phone anyway and she was right. There were quite a number of photos of people who looked just like this man.
"Is he also Arabic?" I asked Collins, eyeing the man, working the shake so fast, the movement gave me a blurry vision. When he smiled, oh dear God.
"I mean, this is Dubai b***h," Collins yelled and I couldn't help laughing at that. We both stopped talking when he walked over to us.
"Aayan!" He yelled over his right side, then pointed at something before turning to us with that same dazzling smile. Collins pinched my arm.
"b***h, ow!" I hit her arm.
"Welcome to Club Ten, ladies, what would you like to have?" He said with that same smile. For a second, we both looked at him without a word. Shaking my head lightly, I pinched Collins.
"b***h, ow!" She turned to glare at me. We were both pulled out of our bantering trance by his chuckle. "Sorry," she said shyly. "You probably won't remember my name in less than 10 seconds, but I'm Collins," she went on. The man's smile widened and he held out his hand over the counter. Collins turned to smile at me and I couldn't contain my giggles.
"Nice to meet you, Collins. I'm Asim. Asim Aman," he said. Collins shook his hands, blushing like crazy. Once he let go, he walked over to me, his eyes piercing through mine. "And who's this beautiful lady?" He inquired. My breath hitched as I blinked.
"K-Katherine Bassett," I said. Okay, maybe I shouldn't have said my last name. He probably recognizes me from the videos.
"Aah, Katerina," he said with his accent and oh God, my name never sounded so sexy. I looked at his held out hand for a second before taking it. To my surprise, he leaned in to plant a kiss on my hand, while keeping eye contact with me. If blushing a thousand times than I already am is possible, then I was at this moment. "Oh my, your hand is soft," he acknowledged, running his thumb over the back of my hand in a soft caress.
I pulled back slowly with a nervous laugh. He seemed to take the hint and leaned back, though his eyes were still on me.
"What can I get you ladies tonight?" He asked looking between Collins and I.
"Indulge us. What do you offer?" Collins challenged. Asim rose a brow.
"A challenger, I see," he said, getting to work quickly.
"I don't drink," I said quickly. He looked up at me.
"She'll be drinking tonight, thank you. Try and go easy on her though," she said.
"Collins!" I yelled.
"What? Come on. You gotta let loose tonight. We came here to get you stress free," she said. "It's not as bad as you think," she said.
"That's what they say before throwing you to the wolves," I said, shaking my head. Asim chuckled, looking between the two of us, while his magical hands worked the shake. "But okay, if you say so," I said raising my hand.
"Yes!" Collins' arms shot up in excitement. We both watched as the man prepared our drinks. "What else do you think those hands can do?" She leaned over to whisper to me. I burst out laughing.
"I was thinking the same thing," I admitted in between laughs, covering my face.
"Nasty," Collins said giggling. I dared to peek through my fingers to see Asim looking at us, amused. Oh God, I hope he didn't hear that.
I was really letting loose tonight. It's probably the environment. Or it's Collins. Or maybe I just decided to enjoy the now and not worry about the future.
Tonight, I haven't thought about my life back in South Africa. And I haven't thought about a certain hazel eyed boy.
Okay, maybe I slipped once.
"Here you go, ladies," Asim whisked out two cocktail drink in front of us. I eyed the drink before me, wearily.
"What do you call this?" I inquired, grasping the glass and feeling the coldness seep into my skin.
"Aviation," Asim said with an easy smile. "It's made with Crème de Violette or Creme Yvette, Maraschino liqueur, gin, and lemon juice," he explained further.
"I don't know what you just said, but it sounds great," I said, earning a laugh from both Collins and Asim. I took a sip and rolled the liquid in my loud to get a taste. Bad move. My body shuddered from the sour taste. It wasn't that bad, but I have to say it was good once I got familiar with the drink. I took more sips, giving Asim a thumbs up. He chuckled at me.
Four drinks down, I was definitely feeling the changes in my body.
"Keep them coming, Asim!" I yelled, enjoying them. He'd made it his point to try different drinks. We went from Aviation to Pina Colada, to Dark 'n Stormy, to Americana. Now we were trying Bloody Mary. I scrunched my face when I smelled tomato. I don't know why, but it made me want to puke. I pushed the drink without drinking.
"I smell tomatoes," I said.
"Yes, it's made with tomato juice, vodka, and spices," Asim said. "You don't like tomatoes, I presume?" He said eyeing me.
"I think I'm going to puke," I groaned. Asim was quick to take the drink. Collins laughed at me. I turned to see that she'd whipped out her camera and was doing the most. "Can you stop doing that? I have to deal with the paparazzi and now you," I said.
"The paparazzi?" Asim repeated, eyeing me. "Here, try this. It's a Hanky Panky," he pushed the drink to me.
"Wait, what? Like s****l dalliance, hanky panky?" I blurted out. Collins burst out laughing. I looked away, blushing. I can't believe I said that. I liked that it didn't bother me.
"You are something else, Katerina," Asim said with that panty dropping smile of his. I was captivated by his eyes and he made it his mission to hold my gaze.
"Wait, how do you even know that?" Collins asked.
"Don't ask me how I know," I said giggling. The alcohol took away the shyness I would have felt at this point.
"Where are you guys from? Your accent is quite familiar," Asim leaned over the counter to look at the two of us.
"South Africa," I said.
"Oh really. My mother's from South Africa, but she moved here a few years ago." He said his smile wide.
"Have you been to South Africa?" I leaned over to look at him as Collins asked her question.
"When I was younger. I haven't been in a long time," he said.
"You should visit," I blurted out.
"Of course," he said.
"How many languages can you speak, Asim?" I asked him, just wanting to hear him talk some more. His voice was deep and soothing.
"Uh, I speak Arabic, English, Hindi, French and a little bit of Korean," he said.
"Wow, that's impressive," I admitted, nodding. "I only speak English. Boring, I know," I said.
"Oh but you are anything but boring, Katerina," he said tilting his head in amusement. I blushed, despite the alcohol. It was probably the alcohol. "I mean, from what I've learnt so far, you are beauty and the brains. A little witty, but more reserved. You have a potential glow, which you're dimming," he said.
I could only stare, aware of Collins making sounds in the background. My heart fluttered at his words.
"No one has ever said that to me," I admitted shyly. I was hoping he didn't hear that. "You think I'm beautiful?" I couldn't help but ask. His smile widened. He stretched out his arm and took my hand. Collins and I screamed simultaneously as I blushed profusely.
"Of course, Katerina," he said planting yet another kiss on my hand, his grey eyes on mine. "I mean, look at your eyes. Like the ocean," he said.
"Oh my God," I giggled, feeling the heat rise to my face. "It's getting hot in here!" I yelled and Asim and Collins both laughed at me. After finding enough courage, I grabbed my phone and opened it before placing it on the counter.
"Well, in that case, I'mma let you give me those tens," I said. He rose a brow in amusement. I was far too gone to care about what I'm doing.
"Bold," he pointed, grabbing my phone. I turned to Collins, who was about to fall off the chair from giggling. She was screaming so loud, hyping me up. I clamped my mouth, giggling.
"That's my b***h!" She yelled, pointing at me. "Woo! I always knew you were wild, b***h,"
I turned to Asim as he placed my phone back down, eyeing me with a smile.
"I like a woman who's not scared to get what she wants," Asim praised.
"Oh by tomorrow, this Katerina will be long gone," I said.
"Well, in that case, do I get to do this?" He asked.
"Do what?" I inquired. My words were swallowed by his lips pressing against mine. I gasped quietly, surprised. I quickly overcome my shock and kissed him back. He prolonged the kissed until we both needed to breathe. "Your mouth tastes so good," I said still close to him. He chuckled softly. "Okay, I'm officially drunk," I admitted, covering my face out of my shyness. He was quick to remove my hands from my face.
"Don't hide that beauty," he said softly. He leaned to plant a soft lingering kiss on my cheek and I squealed, heating up so much.
A few guys from my right cheered on and I turned to look. They were looking at us. I turned back to Asim, asking what was happening. He only rolled his eyes at them, finally pulling back.
"They are cheering on me kissing you," he said.
"Do they do that everytime?" I asked as one of the guys came over.
"Oh don't worry, sweetheart. Homeboy has been celibate for a millennial now," he said with an eye roll, which aggravated Asim. "I'm Aayan," he held out his hand for me and Collins.
"Katherine," I left out my last name this time. "What does he mean, celibate?" I asked Asim. I mean, I knew what the word meant, I was just shocked. Confirming by a blush gracing this godly-looking man, Aayan was probably right.
"I haven't been into dating and stuff lately," he admitted shyly, scratching his neck sheepishly.
"Are you serious? B-but-" *hiccup* "you're hot," I blurted out. He only smiled while Aayan laughed.
"Asim, go. Ahmed will take over," he turned to Aayan. That got to me.
"You're leaving?" I asked him. He nodded.
"My shift has ended," he said looking up at the clock. It read 12:36 in bold blue letters. I was just having fun with him. "I can hang, if you want," he said quickly. I nodded quickly, Collins agreeing with him.
So the three of us hung out. I was aware of Asim's light touches to the hand, my waist, hip. He stuck to my hands mostly, talking about how soft they were. He complimented Collins and I when he saw our full attire for the night.
We'd bought the dresses in a hurry. I chose a gold glittery long sleeve with a low cut front, showing my boobs. It went a little over my knees in an uncomfortable way but I would complain tomorrow. I wore black strappy heels with the dress. Collins had curled my hair. She had a black sparkly one arm dress with white stilettos. Needless to say, she looked gorgeous.
We had more drinks until I couldn't have any more. Asim stopped me and luckily, I listened. Collins was taking photos of Asim and I. We'd kissed again, with me initiating the second kiss because damn, he tasted so good. I would think about the consequences tomorrow.
Right now, I just wanted to have fun.
Asim led me to the dance floor and we started dancing on our own pace. Sober Katherine wouldn't dare hit the dance floor. Drunk Katherine was grinding against Asim, causing him to groan lowly on my ear. It wasn't long before I recognized the bulge poking me. I swallowed hard, realizing two things can happen from here onwards.
It's either he'll be a gentleman and not rush me into anything. Or we'd end entangled into the sheets back at the hotel or his place. Oh God. I really hope drunk Katherine can hold her s**t together. Asim was very nice, but I didn't intend for him to be my one night stand.
As if sensing my discomfort, Asim gently placed his hand on my face and tilted my face up. "What's wrong?" He asked, frowning slightly. My mouth opened and closed, not knowing what to say.
Oh what the hell?
"I'm a virgin, Asim," I admitted to him, feeling the heat creep on me. His eyebrows raised and he blinked. Well, there goes my nice time. I might as well pack up and go.
"I like you Katerina," he admitted gently. Despite the alcohol, I still blushed over the words. "I wouldn't make you do anything you don't want to, okay?" He said planting a soft kiss on my lips. "I hope this is okay," he asked as an afterthought. I nodded, managing to relax after that reassurance.
"I like you too, Asim," I admitted shyly, smiling at him. He returned my smile, winding his thick arms around my waist.
Not once have I thought about body shaming myself before this man; nor did he gave me the vibes. We just danced to our own slow rhythmic song, seeing as the song was upbeat and we were moving slowly.
Nothing else mattered in this moment, except Asim and I. He showered me with affection and I was floating on cloud nine.
We danced until I felt my eyelids closed on their own. I must have passed out, but I could hear him call out my name.
"I like the way you pronounce my name..." was the last thing I remember saying before I felt warm lips pressing to my cheek and then I was floating.
