The metropolis seemed to move at a frenetic pace, much like the thoughts racing through his mind. He stared out of the window, a cityscape blurred by memories of laughter, shared secrets, and the warmth of her presence. It had been a deliberate choice to distance himself from her, an attempt to bury the past.
