For Grace, her wedding was the last day she was going to see Dominic. But she completely forgot that she might have bid goodbye to Maxon but Dominic was going to be part of the rest of her life. Grayson noticed reluctance on Grace’s face, she was already overwhelmed with everything so close after their wedding. “Mom, we just had a huge celebration, can’t we sit on this one? Grace and I have a lot to reset before we leave the States.” “But Gray….” Grace put her hand on Grayson’s arms. First touch since their wedding which she had initiated. “We would love to be there Amelia but please can we make this close family and friends only? After the official announcement, I would love to host a grand celebration in Paris for Grayson.” Grayson smiled contently. “Of course, of course.” Amelia’s voice was equally happy. “So, it’s set. I will see you both tomorrow at 7.” The word spread and their close-knit circle of friends and families were invited. Everyone wanted to make this farewell a memorable and joyful event. Kennedy parties were always the talk of the town and this was no different. Grace stood before her full-length mirror, her reflection illuminated by the soft, golden glow of the dressing room's lighting. She was getting ready for the grand farewell party that her friends were hosting in her honor, and she wanted to look her best for the occasion. Her dress, carefully chosen for the special evening, was a masterpiece of elegance and sophistication. It was an enchanting floor-length gown in a deep shade of midnight blue. The fabric flowed like liquid silk, draping gracefully over her lithe figure, accentuating her every curve. The dress featured a classic, form-fitting bodice, with a gentle V-neck that framed her collarbone and shoulders. Delicate straps adorned with subtle, shimmering sequins crisscrossed at the back, add a touch of glamour to the ensemble. The gown's design was a blend of timeless style and contemporary allure, perfectly mirroring Grace's own personality. As her fingers brushed over the fabric, she marveled at the intricate details. The bodice was adorned with delicate lace that seemed to bloom like moonlit flowers, its ethereal patterns reminiscent of intricate lacework. The lace extended from her shoulders to the waist, subtly revealing the hint of her skin beneath. The skirt of the dress cascaded down to the floor, the fabric pooling around her feet with every step she took. It had a gentle, sweeping train that added a touch of drama to the overall look. Grace's every movement caused the fabric to sway and ripple like a midnight ocean under the moonlight. She completed her look with a pair of silver, strappy stilettos that accentuated the gown's elegance and a simple silver necklace that shimmered against her skin. Her hair swept up into an artful updo, framed her face, allowing her striking features to take center stage. She chose subtle, yet captivating makeup, with smoky eyes and a soft, rosy lip color that accentuated her natural beauty. “Wow, you look beautiful.” Grace turned around to find Grayson leaning against the door. “Thank you,” Grace replied with a coy smile. For the occasion, Grayson opted for a classic and timeless look that exuded confidence and sophistication. He wore a perfectly tailored, deep charcoal gray suit, crafted from the finest wool. The suit jacket featured a sleek, single-breasted design with a slim lapel, giving him a modern and dashing appearance. Beneath the jacket, Grayson wore a crisp white dress shirt, which added a touch of refinement to the ensemble. The shirt was impeccably fitted, accentuating his physique and lending an air of elegance to his overall look. To complete his attire, Grayson chose a black silk tie, expertly tied in a Windsor knot. The tie added a sense of formality and sophistication to the outfit, perfectly complementing the deep gray of his suit. The shoes were polished to a mirror-like sheen, reflecting the ambient light of the party venue and adding a touch of panache to his outfit. A classic, stainless steel wristwatch adorned his wrist, a symbol of his commitment to punctuality and the value he placed on time. “You look good too…” Grace complimented him. Grayson, for sure, was dressed for a lasting impression. Grayson walked up to Grace and stood beside her. Grace looks at them through the mirror. “We look good together.” Grayson entwined his hands in hers. “Our honeymoon was pushed back because of the move, but babe tomorrow we will remove all the walls between us.” He whispered and the temperature suddenly went down. Grayson has been extra careful, affectionate, and caring towards Grace. He was over compensating for the betrayal and acting like he really wanted this marriage to work. Grace simply nodded to his words and turned back to the mirror. “Tell me about this farmhouse, where we are going!” Grayson dropped his hands from hers and stiffened. “It’s nothing special, just one of the numerous properties my father owns.” Grayson fiddled with his tie, Grace knew it was a sign of nervousness in him. Previously, she had always let him drop the topic of his father but today she couldn’t. She wanted to know more. “Amelia’s excited voice while talking about it didn’t say the same.” “Grace…” “Gray, I am your wife. I need you to be able to talk to me about everything. I want to know about that part of life as well.” “While growing up, my dad wasn’t really a present father. He was always away for business, leaving Mom to raise us but whenever he was back in town we would always to go his farmhouse in the west. Those were the only times I got to enjoy my dad’s time. I awaited those times desperately and Mom still holds onto that notion. For all I care, that place is nothing but a symbol of what a sh*t father he was.” “I am so sorry, Gray. I didn’t know…” “I know Dominic Kennedy can act like a wonderful person and company. He probably is but he isn’t really a good father or a husband.” Grace looked down at her shoes thinking of Domininc’s affectionate gestures. “Charlotte was his eye candy, she doesn’t really hold grudges so she has a good relationship with him, mom never gave up as she wanted him in our life whereas, I don’t forget Grace. I haven’t talked to him in two years before our wedding, that’s how worse things have become, I don’t even know why he offered his place for any of my feats in life when he has never bothered to show up before.” Grace had her doubts about why Domininc offered the place but he couldn’t be as bad as Grayson’s explanation. Her heart couldn’t believe it. Grayson has lots of issues and wishes they could work it out. “He is your dad, I hope that you will be able to talk to him today. We are moving 1000s of miles away for god knows how long, don’t let the past come in between especially when he is trying to make an effort.” The air was filled with anticipation and excitement. Grace and Grayson arrived at the farmhouse, their hearts warmed by the sight of their friends and loved ones gathered to bid them farewell. Dominic’s farmhouse was picturesque nestled in the serene countryside, a short drive from the bustling city. The farmhouse exuded rustic charm and an air of tranquility that made it the perfect setting for the evening's celebration. The main entrance was framed by a quaint wooden gate, flanked by flowering hedges and ivy-covered stone walls. A gravel pathway led through a lush, well-tended garden adorned with vibrant blooms of various colors. The scent of fresh blossoms filled the air, creating an enchanting, floral welcome for the guests. The farmhouse itself was a timeless structure, constructed of weathered stone that had acquired character and history over the years. Its facade was adorned with creeping vines, giving it a natural, rustic elegance. Antique lanterns lined the pathway, their soft, warm light illuminating the way as evening fell. The large wooden front door, complete with wrought-iron accents, stood invitingly ajar. Inside, the farmhouse boasted a warm and cozy atmosphere. The living area was adorned with exposed wooden beams and a stone fireplace that radiated warmth. Soft, comfortable furnishings were arranged for conversation and relaxation, and the room was adorned with floral arrangements that added a pop of color. The farmhouse also had a spacious, open kitchen with a large wooden dining table, the perfect place to gather and enjoy a delicious meal together. A rustic chandelier hung overhead, casting a soft, ambient glow. French doors led out to a sprawling backyard, where the real magic of the venue unfolded. The garden was a natural wonder, with lush lawns surrounded by tall, ancient trees that provided shade and a sense of seclusion. String lights crisscrossed above the seating areas, illuminating the night and creating a cozy, enchanting ambiance. A long, elegantly decorated table was set up in the garden, adorned with white linens, delicate china, and sparkling glassware. It awaited the guests with an array of delectable dishes and refreshments, a testament to the care and thought that had gone into every detail. The farmhouse was exactly like its owner. His broody, timeless personality matched this property. The garden was beautifully lit and it felt like someone who knew her very keenly had decorated it, especially for her. “Isn’t it beautiful?” Amelia asked Grace. “It’s wonderful.” Her eyes were set on the lights decorated on the cherry blossom tree. “I didn’t even know that Dominic could plan parties. He took care of everything for today.” Grayson cleared his throat, “I will be back.” He rushed out of there. Amelia shook her head. “This father-son duo will never stop to raise my blood pressure. But, Grace I am so grateful to have you here in our family. With you here, it feels like everything is looking up.” Grace gave her a genuine smile. Grace’s eyes sauntered all across the party searching for one person. He was nowhere to be seen. As the evening unfolded, heartfelt speeches and toasts were given to Grace and Grayson. The night was filled with music, dancing, and heartfelt goodbyes. Friends shared stories of their journey, the challenges they would have to overcome, and the adventures they would experience. There were tears of joy, laughter, and an overwhelming sense of camaraderie. Grace had tears in her eyes, Grayson assured her. "We can visit whenever we like, Grace. I promise." Grace nodded her head when her eyes subconsciously went towards the garden entrance. “Are you waiting for someone?” Before Grace could answer, Grayson’s grandfather made his way towards their table. Everyone around stood up in respect including the couple. “Grace, I would like to have a word with you if you don’t mind.” “Not at all, Grandpa.” He brought his hand forward and Grace hooked her arms in his. She was about to follow the old man when the commotion came from the garden entrance. There he was…
